Not anymore. the law was changed so that kick off team play the ball backwards without moving forwards



Notice a single player puts the ball in motion at kick off rather than two players
As I said to someone earlier, haven't watched soccer in over 10 years. Seems a weird thing to change but then again would have zero impact as they all do the same thing.

I never knew that was the rule until we played interschool soccer one year. Same as your feet have to point where you throw on a throw in. For a bunch of Aussie rules kids, I thought the ref was a bit harsh on the throw in rule against us haha
