With the 21st pick in the 2021 NFL draft, the Indianapolis Colts select

Jaelan Phillips, DE, Miami Hurricanes



The Colts solidify the defensive edges, replacing Denico Autry and potentially Justin Houston with Phillips.

I'm a sucker for Brett Kollman breakdowns, and his analysis of Phillips makes him seem like a perfect fit next to Buckner in the Colts defense for the foreseeable future.

With the 22nd pick the Tennessee Titans select: Greg Newsome II, CB, Northwestern

For a team that finished 11-5 last year the Titans have a sneaky amount of holes that need patching on this team and they got worse during free agency. So we could go plenty of ways with this pick, I think OT,DT need to be addressed but I can't come to any players still on the board. WR is another direction so I could come to Rashod Bateman for this pick but I think with the depth at WR this draft we can address that later. After letting Butler and Jackson go it's time for this CB room to start over fresh by adding Newsome to Jackrabbit Jenkins and last years first rounder Kristian Fulton. Newsome is a very scheme diverse player who I think can contribute from day 1. He has great size at 6'0" and plays with a bit of nasty edge when opposed to receivers in man coverage. He is very comfortable in zone but I think he is best utilized in bump and run coverage where he can body up on the opposing wideout. Deep speed has been the knock on Newsome, I wasn't worried from the tape I watched as he was asked to do alot of underneath stuff and when he was on a deep ball route he showed good body control to contest the ball.

Jets select Teven Jenkins - OT - Oklahoma State

To look at him, you'd think that butter wouldn't melt in the mouth, but Jenkins has developed a well-deserved reputation for being a nasty, physical player out on the football field. Jenkins certainly looks the part of an NFL starting calibre offensive tackle, measuring 6'6" and 320 pounds. Jenkins leaves the college scene as a redshirt senior, playing four seasons as offensive tackle with Oklahoma State (albeit he wasn't a full-time starter until 2018). Jenkins has experience starting at both left tackle and right tackle, though the bulk of his reps come from the right side of the offensive line. That suits the Jets just fine. Mekhi Becton had a very good rookie season at left tackle last year for the Jets, while the Jets could do with upgrading the right side of the offensive line, with George Fant being overpaid for his production at right tackle. Drafting Jenkins allows the Jets to make Fant a swing tackle, to fill in as needed on either side of the offensive line, or to outright cut him depending on how the rest of the draft progresses for the Jets.

Although Jenkins' season ended prematurely in November 2020, he did well enough in limited game-time last season to earn first-team All-Big 12 honours, along with other offensive linemen Creed Humphrey, and Samuel Cosmi (among others).

Jenkins seems home in both power- and zone-based blocking schemes, which is good for the Jets, since it's likely the Jets will use a zone-based blocking scheme primarily under new offensive coordinator Mike LaFleur. Jenkins is more polished as a run blocker than a pass blocker, but he does show good skills as a pass blocker. His short-ish arms are a concern, as they could cause him to reach more than is appropriate for a pass-blocking tackle, and which could get him into trouble against savvy edge rushers who will try to use this against him.

Tuesday, in the first of Mac Jones’ two pro days, he looked the part. Jones threw 50 passes — a variety of short, intermediate, deep throws, throws on the run and throws under pressure — and he completed most of them.

A few of his passes were overthrown and a few were underthrown. But for the most part, Jones, who the Panthers could draft in April, performed well.


One of the biggest knocks against Jones when scouting him is his arm strength, but some of his best throws Tuesday were deep passes, albeit there was no pressure or pads.

His best throw was a 47-yarder down the left side. He ran it out of the shotgun formation and hit his receiver in stride.

Patrick Jones II--Edge, Pittspuke, 6'5", 260#

Opting not to pay big $$ for over the hill pass rushers, DePodesta conjures up some analytical magic out of his warlock home in LA to decide upon a second team All-American, First Team All-ACC edge rusher. 13 tackles for a loss, 9 sacks, 3 pass deflections and a fumble recovery in the pandemic shortened season of 2020 are projected to be other-wordly all-pro numbers lined up opposite Myles Garrett.

DePodesta's sidekick, Andrew "don't call me Sashi" Berry likes the fact that Patrick has the good character, smart, team captain profile in keeping with the player characteristics the Browns have been stockpiling in the last year. It doesn't hurt that he sees Mr. Jones II as the next Aaron Donald type D-lineman to come out of the Pittspuke program.

The Browns are unconcerned with Patrick Jones II weakness against the run as the NFL has become the toss the ball around and "why would you give the ball to Chubb inside the 10 yard line when we can chuck it into the endzone” league.

Instead the Browns are swept away by the athletic prowess of the pro ready Jones II. They expect a productive season out of the rookie as the Browns race to claim the Super Bowl that is long overdue for the storied franchise that drubbed the Pittspuke Squeelers in consecutive weeks this past year.

Bateman is a surehanded WR with good athleticism and great route running who ran a full route tree during his time at Minnesota. Baltimore's passing offense needs to improve in all aspects (scheme, execution and talent) and Bateman will hopefully help address the third of those three categories

NAJEE HARRISSSSSSSSSSSS RB Alabama

"Harris’s career at Alabama started off slow. Stuck in a rotation behind Josh Jacobs and Damien Harris, Najee Harris wasn’t able to shoulder the load and be productive. That changed his junior year, however, when both Jacobs and Damien Harris entered the NFL. It was then Najee Harris’ time. As a junior, Harris ran for 1,224 yards and 13 touchdowns while amassing 304 yards on 27 catches. He had drawn enough buzz to declare for the NFL Draft, but he elected to stay at Alabama to boost his stock. What a wise decision that turned out to be.​

In 2020, Harris ran for 1,462 yards and 26 touchdowns and racked up 425 receiving yards and 4 receiving touchdowns. Now, Harris leaves as Alabama’s all-time rushing leader and all-time leading scorer, with 46 rushing touchdowns and 3,843 yards. More impressively, he tied Tim Tebow for most total touchdowns in an SEC career (57). The Green Bay Packers select
Alex Leatherwood T/G - Alabama

Packers have a huge hole on the OL after losing all pro C Corey Linsley in free agency. and will make OL a high need after paying Jones. Leatherwood will be a quick learner in the Packers OL room with the Alabama scheme being complementary to the Packers RPO scheme. and He has had some nasty blocks on runs. His time at Alabama he played both tackles and was moved inside for the 2018 season. The packers will be looking for the bookend to solidify the OL once Bakhtiari gets back and could be the week 1 starter at LT.

The Buffalo Bills select Asante Samuel Jr Cornerback Florida State

The Bills were oh so close to reaching the SuperBowl last season falling just short of the AFC benchmark Chiefs. The Bills could certainly do with a more consistent running game to take the load of the next Brasher Jersey Curse victim in Allen. They could also do with some more help along the offensive line which would also help Allen out.

However, I think they can address both of these needs later in the draft so the Bills select a corner who whilst isn't the most physically dominating in his class brings a competitive and feisty nature to the playing field. You can never have too many starting corners in this league and whilst some project Samuel as a future slot corner (based on his size), his fluent movement, change of direction skills and man coverage skills makes him an intriguing prospect for any team needing to get over the Kansas City (Tyreek Hill) hump.

With pick # 31 The Kansas City Chiefs select: Dillon Radunz. T . North Dakota State.






A team that has been to two Super Bowls in a row, doesn't have a lot of weaknesses.

However Andy Reid and his cohort will be haunted by not having been able to adequately protect their stud QB in the last game they played in.
So the selection of Radunz assists in the depth chart of players who can keep the QB upright and protect him.
This is a needs based pick and not necessarily the best player available.
No point having one of the best QB's in the competition, if your can't give him the assistance he needs to do his stuff.

#32 Buccaneers select DT Daviyon Nixon Iowa

Premier DT in the draft class. Keywords that describe him best — athletic, agile, powerful, explosive, playmaker, disruptive. Proficient both against the run and pass, can anchor as well as penetrate gaps. A prototypical 4-3 3-technique, but I am sure can be just as effective as a 3-4 5-technique. Still needs some development. Had academic problems early, and struggled to get in the field, taking time to learn, and once he got over the hump of his learning disability, and had a full year starting, he exploded onto the national scene in 2920.


The Bucs have the luxury of not having any real holes, but they do long-term at 5-tech and OLB, where Suh (34), Gholston (30), JPP (32) are nearing their end and FAs next off-season. So we need to draft their replacements.


Suh is built much like Nixon, so the plan is for him to learn behind Suh and be ready to take over the job full time next year, but if he develops quickly, could rotate in more often.

Jets take Creed Humphrey - C - Oklahoma

The Jets' continued makeover of the offensive line gathers pace as the Jets take the best centre in the draft with their second round pick. The Jets have had shoddy centre play ever since Nick Mangold retired, and while there's always caution in drafting a centre high in the draft (g'day Pat Elflein), Humphrey is probably as close to a comfortable selection as you're going to get. Humphrey started 36 straight games for the Sooners at centre, and comes into the NFL with 37 starts overall. Checking in at 6'4 5/8" and 312 pounds, Humphrey has the type of frame that makes for an excellent interior offensive lineman, even though his athletic traits aren't excellent by any stretch. Humphrey is a southpaw (snaps the ball with his left hand), so that will take some adjusting to for whomever starts at quarterback for the Jets, but that shouldn't discourage Humphrey from being named the day 1 starter for the Jets at centre. Taking Humphrey allows Saleh and LaFleur to slide 2020 starting centre Connor McGovern over to guard, which is his more natural position, and allows the Jets to recoup some of the money guaranteed to McGovern when they signed him as a free agent before last season began. Humphrey has plenty of experience as a zone-blocking lineman, which is perfect for the Jets as they're going to implement primarily a zone-blocking scheme under new offensive coordinator, Mike LaFleur. Humphrey has excellent grasp of the fundamentals of interior offensive line play, and he has the head's up intelligence to understand that his task isn't finished when he blocks the person in front of him. Humphrey, however, is not a strong run blocker, and it's likely that his athletic deficiencies will limit his upside in those terms.

With the 35th pick the Atlanta Falcons select....Zaven Collins, LB, Tulsa


This Falcons defense needs just about everything so its hard to pass up the best Safety in the class but we will for this guy. Zaven Collins is definitely not your new school 6'1" 210lbs LB he is built like they used to build them. At 6'4" 260lbs his versatility will make him an immediate starter for Dean Pees' who loves disguising his defensive looks by having guys who can do abit of everything. During his time at Tulsa we saw him develop his ability to get into the backfield every year which was good considering he played in High School as a QB and Safety. His best trait I believe is his ability to cover for a bigger guy, he will be a TE neutraliser from the get go but his instincts also make him a threat in zone coverage especially when dropping back from the line of scrimmage. His 2020 was massive with 53 tackles, 4 ints (2TDs), 4 sacks, 11.5 TFL's in just 8 games. In short this guy is good at football.

With Pick 38 the Bengals take:

The Bengals gave up 48 sacks in 2020 and need to protect Burrow by solidifying the OL. The Bengals have been active in free agency picking up Reilly Reiff but he's on a one year deal. Cosmi definitely needs some development time before starting in the NFL, but he's a high upside pick who's on the up.

Still fairly raw but one of the strongest arms in the entire class (which I'm always a suck for) and sneaky good scrambling ability. He's pretty much the Franklin's no Frills version of Justin Fields from a game style perspective.

With Bridgewater still under contract and no trade partner in sight it's the perfect time to bring in a QB like Mond who probably needs a season to sit and learn behind a vet.

A project no doubt, but I'm pretty confident that there will be cornerbacks available that I like in round three and this was the last QB I see with any sort of special traits that could make him starter at the NFL level.

Christian Barmore - DL - Bama

Has shown flashes of being a dominant force. Wouldn’t be surprised if he goes first round when it’s all said and done.

Denver has a decent team overall, but could use some interior help to go with Shelby Harris.

If broncos ended up with Fields and Barmore I would be pretty happy.
