Essendon will crown its 2021 Crichton medallist from 6:30pm AEST tonight via a virtual event.

So I just saw a tweet saying it's tomorrow (Tuesday) night.

Zach to win from Parish, Laverde and Ridley, with Stringer sneaking into 5th. Will do a more detailed preview tomorrow if you guys want

It'll be tight

This is the list of guys who 'played' 17 or more games (games as sub count towards the total):
  • Darcy Parish 23
  • Zach Merrett 23
  • Jayden Laverde 23
  • Nik Cox 22
  • Jordan Ridley 22
  • Nick Hind 22
  • Mason Redman 22
  • Archie Perkins 21
  • Peter Wright 21
  • Devon Smith 20
  • Matt Guelfi 20
  • Will Snelling 20
  • Anthony McDonald-Tipungwuti 20
  • Dyson Heppell 19
  • Jake Stringer 19
  • Brayden Ham 19
  • Cale Hooker 18
  • Kyle Langford 17
  • James Stewart 17

My guess is the bolded guys will make up the Top-10 so; Parish, Merrett, Laverde, Ridley, Hind, Redman, Snelling, Tippungwuti & Heppell.

Top-3 to be Merrett, Parish & Ridley clear of the group of Laverde, Hind, Redman, Heppell & Stringer (games played pushing Stringer & Heppell down a little) with Snelling and AMT rounding out the Top-10.

I'm not sure Parish will poll as well as a few think. I can see Laverde also sneaking ahead of him as well.

Our voting system is hard to predict, I think games-played is an important metric, and Parish would have been inside our top half dozen players in quite a few games. Maybe not enough to overhaul Merrett, but I think Merrett, Parish and Ridley will be Top-3.

Laverde is hard to pick, he played every game and would have largely done-so to coaches instructions so should poll well.

1- Zach Merrett
2- Darcy Parish
3- Jordan Ridley
4- Jake Stringer
5- Jayden Laverde
6- Nick Hind
7- Dyson Heppell
8- Mason Redman
9- Will Snelling
10- Anthony McDonald-Tipungwutti
