Hope people jump off ZWilliams now as he becomes a POD and then scramble to get him in as he becomes close to a top 10 defender at 458k.

I am just starting a rookie for him while he warms the bench for Rd.1.

Nah, look at his scoring history, in the 50s.
Plus injury
Plus Ryan is the main man down there for SC scoring.
I realise this, another warm body that play all year. Hopefully a few rookies get the nod for round 1.

Top 10 defender only in average it dosen't help when he is a Top 30 defender for total points after only playing 15 games for the season

Don’t pick him and easily fixed.

My worry with Williams is his game being so early in the round + teams only being released at 6:30pm the night before the game, it means it might become a problem with rookies given the paucity of good defensive rookies. Usually I'd hold if it was only one game but....

Yep that’s a spanner in the works for those considering holding.

I really want to hold, for some reason I just can’t make my team look right when I take him out.

Very annoying. I thought he might just have got away with it because the Essendon player didn’t seem to knocked about.

If nothing else it was an incredibly stupid thing for Williams to do in a practice match a week before he debuts for a new team. If he’s stupid enough to do that what other stupid shit might he do during the season proper?

Thoughts on Tom Atkins?
played great in his new role as a defender, i dont think you can expect him to score like he did on the weekend. i reckon he gets scores more in the 60-80 range. he may also get some lockdown roles too on dangerous smalls as he used to tag as a mid. probably a pass for me. could be a handy late fwd bench option in draft depending on how many teams you have in your league.

The bolded is what's really deterring me. If we actually knew who was named/on the extended benches by the time the Blues game starts on Thursday we could actually plan around it given we'd have a good idea of which kids are likely to play. This whole release-the-night-before garbage just turns it into guesswork and too much of a risk IMO to hold onto him

If ZWill played later in the round and one of your bench rookies popped off for say an 80+ you’d easily pick him and not worry.

But no chance ZWill catches the others guys around him after already going down a game, he’ll also miss his annual 2/3 games through injury and that will annoy the shit out of you too. His average might look tasty but his overall points will be garbage once again. Not worth it at all unless you’re hell bent on winning leagues and not overall

Bringing Lloyd back in just ruined my entire team. I was secretly hoping he missed round 1

Just don't pick him and get him as an upgrade target.

Coming off an injury and touch and go for Rd 1 screams slow start and price drops. He's maxed out as is.

Just take the blokes who kick out. They're going to run their extra 15 meters almost everytime which constitutes a kick. Say a club like Essendon who kicked I think over 15 behinds, if they played Melbourne, there's 15 plus kicks for Steven may. Most of those kicks would've been long effective kicks.

He's in full training and is basically a certainty to start. With the way backmen are scoring, Lloyd could average 130, like no joke. Waiting on the injury report next week.
