The speed which Clark possesses will be an asset for the Cats this year as they intend to add speed on the outside.

Geelong senior coach Chris Scott provided an update via SEN on Thursday.

“We probably think he will play a little bit more midfield,”

“he played back most of the time in his first year.”

“He’s looking good, he’s in good form, he’s had a great pre-season” Scott said.

Clark will likely spend some time on a wing this season, he will also be used to break lines from half-back.

RE Clark I'm really torn on the pick, I don't really want to pick him but I feel like I have to on the back of barely any defence rookies. I didn't watch the Geelong vs Essendon game but I saw Clark took quite a few kick-outs with 6 play on from kick-ins. I would assume there's a role there for him with that but I don't see who he would kick out of a Geelong established backline and outside midfield. I'd like to hear from a Cats fan will he play every week? will he get kick-outs?

He looked really good probably BOG he was everywhere so I'm really not sure where he was playing. There has been a couple of posts in the last couple of days where Scott wants him in the team for his speed off half back. With the rookie options low he is definately worth the risk at his price and has DPP

Adjusted the 2020 shorten quarter stat line to suit normal game time.

Increasing the protected zone all the way to the boundary is going to really increase the play on percentage more than moving the man back 5m. Because now you can’t really kick it short sideways to a teammate, as they aren’t allowed to be there.
