yea thats my feeling too, the club was mentioning improving our draft hand and we didnt, so i am disappointed, but on the brighter side, we picked up a good ruck in Max Lynch and moved on 2 guys that were stagnating in TOB and Ceglar so theres a bit of good news to come out of it imo.

Yeah absolutely. The sky isn't falling and i am not overly upset about losing either of the players we did, just we clearly had a plan coming in and failed to accomplish it. Bit flat.

Biggest take away from this trade period:
Our list is INVESTED in what is to come.
Really exciting that so many senior players want to stick around and see us through to our next period of success, however that may look!

Ruck demographic upgrade for peanuts is a decent enough result for mine.
Hopefully we can get some pick movement on the night

Hard to trade when no one else is either and player movement was basically in grid lock. Disappointing period no doubt, but I think it was more circumstantial than any screw up on our behalf.

There is only so much you can do to encourage other clubs to stump up good picks, or convince players to go to clubs they don't want to go to.

You used the word Hate which is a pretty strong word. Personally i believe he was too timid to be our ruck. I don’t Hate him.

Funny how different my view on Cegs is to many on this forum.

I guess I tended to judge Jonathon on his best games (see Sydney match earlier this year) more than his worst.

Honestly we have had worse rucks on our list over the journey.

I personally wish him all the best, I think he might surprise a few here if he is given half a crack at it down Bellarine way.

depth and demographic of the list is good. Just need draft in some class on top of that.

trading futures compromises next years draft, so now it’s a combo of the draft, next years draft the psd, rookie draft, mid season and how it fits and the talent which we have identified

Sam and McKenzie would obviously be disappointed as they set out to improve our draft hand and were not able to achieve it. It's not a disaster. We didn't do a Collingwood and throw good players away for unders but we didn't achieve what we wanted so that is disappointing.

Ultimately Wingard and Breust are contracted and entitled to stay and we didn't get meaningful offers for any others. Nobody wanted to leave which is a good thing when you consider the year the club has had.

We have a solid draft hand. Need to nail the picks. Over to McKenzie.
