Lol seriously can we just have a ban on posting things ol clickbait Kornes says…

none of it is interesting and it’s all designed to just stir people up.

Hodgey wants a new rule! Hodgey gets a new rule.

No more clickbait shit from Cornes in here.

Also:
Can we also threadban Rendell quotes. The bloke is senile.
Done ✔️

How sure are we that GWS won't go for a KPD like gibcus which is a ' need' for them more than another midfielder? İf then one of GC or crows take Mac and then we'll have heap of options!
The more I think about it the more I reckon Freo have the best hand here. 6 & 8 are really strong hands in this Draft . İf they want Erasmus then expect the phone running hot if he slips to our pick. Then we have the upper hand to somehow come out of this Draft with another first rounder.

They will know the value of their pick (Callaghan), and will know how many teams would be keen to get him. If they are looking at Andrew or Gibcus then they will trade back - they hold all the power there.

I'm on the love boat by myself and I would invite Erasmus on board.

I have had 13 schooners.

On the flip side, clubs will need to hold their nerve, trust their planning and not overpay for a pick upgrade.

I feel like we’ve had a Penfold Grange (Pick 2) most the year only to be replaced by a bottle of Queen Adelaide Cab Sav (Pick 5)….some wanting us to trade it for 2 casks of De Bortoli (Pick 7 +…..)
I'd say 5 is shaping up into a nice Clonakilla Shiraz Viognier, rich, full, and consistent if not as exciting as some Rose/Champagne the bartender tries to sell you because he couldn't be arsed going to the cellar.

Greater Western Sydney recruiting boss Adrian Caruso says the Giants are likely to reject rival offers for its coveted pick two as clubs clamour to move up the board.
Caruso confirmed the club has had advances from rival clubs for the prized selection but, while there is still plenty to play out, said they have not been appealing enough to consider a trade.
He said offers would need to be “compelling” for them to give up the pick tied to Collingwood, which the Giants secured in a live trade on draft night last year.

Caruso told the Herald Sun Footy Podcast the club has four top-line players in its sights for the second pick of the draft.
News Corp understands this draft quartet is game-breaking midfielder Finn Callaghan, athletic ruckman Mac Andrew, dynamic forward-midfielder Josh Rachele and intercept defender Josh Gibcus.

Pick 2 is up for grabs.. it’s like a month long auction between trade week and the draft.

I think there is a good chance Callaghan slips to the crows assuming GWS keep pick 2, GCS won't trade pick 3 then the crows listen to offers: Scenario is NM. Horne Francis Pies. Daicos Dogs.Darcy GWS. Andrew GCS. Gibcus

Would we sell the farm for Callaghan?
Hawks: 5, 21, Future first
Crows: 4, 33 and future 2nd

4. 24. 33. 59. 65.

4. Finn Callaghan 24. Tyler Sonsie/Zac Taylor 33.Angus Sheldrick

This is my new favourite worst ever trade suggestion.

Unless we are getting another first round back, I’d be disappointed to give up 5 + next years first.

No. Two future firsts for a high draft pick in a draft year where there is a distinct lack of junior scouting.

Just no.

Im not saying i want this trade. Im just throwing out what we could have to pay and if callaghan is worth it. If callaghan turned into a top 5 player, this would be a great trade, if he doesnt turn out well its a fail. Risk vs reward

Id also be disappointed, but if the hawks rated him very highly what would they give up to make sure they get him

I'm not even doing that for Horne, 2 first rounders for an untried player is ****ing insane.

I reckon most clubs would know GWS are bluffing, trying to extort a huge trade fee for Pick 2 from someone when they won't take Callaghan with it anyway. They need Talls, not another mid.
Callaghan looks more likely to land at Suns or Crows, which is good for us if the rumour on the Draft board of Finn not being particularly fond of heading interstate is true.

Maybe he does find his way through to us if he drops a pre-draft interview about how much he loves being in Melbourne, ala Perkins.

Helps both Suns and Adelaide have been burnt hard on players wanting trades home

We are taking Finn. Has the potential to be better than Josh Kelly or Toby Greene.

Taking Callaghan isn't the end of the world for GWS, I doubt anyone will bluff them into taking unders for their pick. They'll develop Callaghan and end up shedding another quality midfielder to cap space or a trade, and get another first in the process. It's a never-ending cycle.
They're in the window though, and don't need mids. They do need some talls.

Have you seen the list of mids? They will be losing more than one and thats without picking Callaghan

Two first round picks for one sounds contrary to the "we need lots of early picks" unless we can scoop anther teams future first for no cost - but then we could have had 3 first round picks in 2 drafts?

They seem to clearly follow this, even though the admin has had personnell changes.

You wonder if it preys on the minds of talent drafted there though
