Lol seriously can we just have a ban on posting things ol clickbait Kornes says…

none of it is interesting and it’s all designed to just stir people up.

Hodgey wants a new rule! Hodgey gets a new rule.

No more clickbait shit from Cornes in here.

Also:
Can we also threadban Rendell quotes. The bloke is senile.
Done ✔️

David King was pretty spot on excluding the 8 year rebuild article heading

“Sam Mitchell should be able to walk into this football club and say look, I want to purge some of these players, let’s see if we can get X, Y and Z. Hopefully you get some picks in the 20s and can start the rebuild instantly. But because we allow the players to hold full control, this list is on hold.

“It’ll be a five or six-year rebuild because of the way we design this, and I don’t even know if it suits the player.

“I don’t know if it’s great for Gunston to finish this way, or Tom Mitchell to go through four years of what, just playing good footy that has no consequence, when they’ve got more to offer?”

King argued the players themselves would be better off accepting trades to try and win a premiership, knowing that shapes as very unlikely at Hawthorn in the coming years, and that going hard this year would be better for the Hawks, too.

“What are you about (as a club)? You’re about winning premierships,” he said.

“The club’s there to set up to win the next flag; you’re not gonna get anything for these guys if you fire sale them like that, probably, but the clubs have to have control.

“This is the old argument about whether you’re able to trade players in contract, and if you are, what does it do? I’ll tell you what it does; it brings an eight-year rebuild back to about four if you get it right.”

Not sure what's actually wrong with anything said
His comments are actually insulting to Mitchell, JOM and co. He’s suggesting that they are choosing to stay while also believing they won’t win a premiership.

I find it very hard to believe that these guys, competitors that they are, would be choosing to stay if they didn’t think they could be a part of success at Hawthorn.

I think as fans we find it very difficult to not view the game we love as the be all end all. The majority see it as a job where financial security is numero uno. I highly, highly doubt any of the four mentioned will find better earnings than their current Hawthorn deals.

Which part do you disagree with?

trading Wingard Mitchell and O'Meara for spec picks in the 20s - So what happens if you don't have those three in the middle and 6 picks but only one top 10 is that those kids play week in week out against Petracca and Oliver, Bont and Dunkley, Wines and Boak and they will get smashed to smithereens. ****ing brilliant

That isn't what David said though, he said Sam SHOULD be able to do that, but he cannot under the current system. Pretty sure all of those midfielders destroyed us with all our big guns anyway so, not like they did a great deal

They take their contract with them. If they are traded, they will earn the same at their new club as what they are earning at Hawthorn. So you can cross that weak argument off your list.

They clearly see something in our list that the media and many on here don’t see.

“Let’s cut a bunch of our better players for picks in the 20’s”.

What a great idea, said no one ever.

All of them up in the next two seasons or less I believe. They're at their earning peaks right now aside from Gunston who is slightly past that point.

Have any clubs even made trade offers for Mitchell or O’Meara?
I honestly think Richmond are mad not to be looking at Titch. They have a great draft hand which would allow them to appease us in a trade, but still bring in some quality kids. I think while Dusty is in his prime they should be looking for another flag.

They have no money and a nice draft hand. They can start the re set now
