I'd still be keen on Josh Kennedy for a year. He'd be great for King as a partner on field but probably more so just as a mentor. Surely if the the stories are true that Collingwood need to offload salary cap we would be very keen on one of their senior players. Pendlebury would be perfect for our midfield, just depends on whether we can entice these guys here when things aren't so positive once again.

There has been a lot of chat about brining in experiences players (Hawks/Pies) but what would someone like Pendlebury at 33.5years cost us and for how long would we get value out of him? Maybe we could pair him up with Maynard for our 2022 first round pick (maybe this years 23 also). Pies won’t want early picks this year with having to match Daicos.

Another seasoned and proven player we could target who is 30 this year is Nat Fyfe. Freo have plenty of young midfield talent who have stood up without him in Brayshaw, Serong and Cerra. Pick 4 could be appealing to them and the surfing would appeal to Fyfe.

Looks like we end up with Pick 3. I really hope we don't waste it and panic. When we have had a fully fit list (which has been our Achilies heel)we have been very competitive. Next year we will have another pre season under our belts. Remember we are only a young list. Not unusual for a young team to fade as the year goes on and finals are out of reach. Don't buy into Vic media BS. FACT- We were down a lot of senior players and got belted against Melbourne whom are a genuine Premiership chance. We have made some good strides this year. As long as the boys stay and continue to buy in we are well placed.

Love your optimism, IMO I think North have developed more this year than we have in Dews 4 years, less talent and no money yet they have a hard edge and a clear game plan, can’t say the same for us

New Day dawns for Sun on the rise
Gold Coast’s Sam Day will sign a new contract in coming weeks, taking one of the forward-rucks clubs would be keen to scout in the off-season off the board.

Day has battled serious injuries through his career including a knee injury this year but is capable of playing key forward then pinch-hitting in the ruck.

Clubs across the competition including Hawthorn, Brisbane and North Melbourne are keen to secure players who are versatile enough to back up a first ruckman but spend most of their time forward.

The No. 3 draft pick in the 2010 national draft is determined to finish his career as a one-club Sun after playing 143 games over 11 seasons.

Where will Rory Lobb next?
Clubs are aware Fremantle tall Rory Lobb is gettable in this year’s trade period but any move remains a long shot.

The ruck-forward has a price tag in the vicinity of $700,000 a season making any trade difficult when money is tight at clubs across the league and the main focus is retention.

The Suns have made clear they want a key forward to bolster their attacking options alongside Ben King.

The Herald Sun has reported the Suns have made contact with Lobb’s manager but are cooling on the prospect.

It is understood any trade would have to include a pay cut for Lobb, but the Dockers are adamant they have no plans to trade the goalkicker who remains contracted in the west.

I actually enjoy watching North this season, been very competitive. Luckily i didn't them too much s**t when they were down.

North stacking their backline with veterans has helped them play good football. Ziebell, Hall, Tarrant, Atley, McDonald (defensive winger) all senior bodies, while we have Powell, Lukosius, Ballard, Graham, Markov, Lemmens all skinny types who bar Lemmens has played under 100 games. Experience matters, something we have lacked all existence

Have no use for a first rounder unless its live trading AFTER a bid, as it would be quickly eaten up by a bid for Daicos.

But.. a player for player trade?

How about a 2022 first rd pick for Darcy Moore? Could also add a sweetener like Fiorini/Brodie

Probably talking about what Ckarko will do next year, like everyone else.

Not sure there is anyone the Pies would give up that we want. Darcy Moore the obvious one but can't see it happening.

Live trading sun's 2021 1st for the Pies 2022 1st maybe, but it may be downgraded so less valuable.
