Soft spot for Brisbane
I think we had the opportunity to do so in 2019 but were to pig headed to have a dip
Yeah, Noble was an obvious pick for us that we didn't take.

Sometimes we deserve what we get.

Assuming you can delist any player you take midyear who doesn't shape up, surely everyone fills their list? It'd be great to have a bit of a look at a couple of 19 year olds.
Not necessarily. Clubs won't take another player just because they can - that comes with additional salary (and other) costs. They will only select a player if they have identified a need, and/or a player that they particularly want to get their hands on.

So what key position defenders will be available at pick 1?
Remind you of anyone?

Surely we could develop him as a KPD with a few minor adjustments to his game? :p

Did you see the Swans game?

Logan McDonald is light years ahead of Thilthorpe. And he is 10 kg lighter so more physical development ahead.

He was the obvious pick but we went for the ruck/forward local lad, and a North went for a midfielder. Lucky Sydney!

I think we will look back on us and North overlooking McDonald and leaving him for Sydney the same way we ridiculed Richmond for years for skipping Franklin. Dumb clubs overlooking a clearly better player and giving a free kick to a well run club.

Zero confidence in anything Hamish does.
I have zero confidence in Hamish and he should be moved on along with Reid and Riccuito but it's gonna take 5 years to definitively know who won the Thilthorpe/McDonald pick. I think the club could have just as easily gone McDonald but knew West coast would have nabbed him in 5 years. I think Thilthorpe has lots of upside as long as his body stands up. Seems like a Tom Lynch type(the one that can play). We must surround him with a decent forward line with pacey forwards (unlike what we have now) similar to Richmond to get the best out of him.

Jason Horne - Manchild

1616045315252.png

Panthers' teammates to watch :

Ones to Watch - Torrens University State Talent Hub Members

Jason Horne (183cm and 77kg) – Touted by many as a likely top 10 AFL Draft Pick this year, Horne will be looking to build on his nine League games played last year. Incredibly athletic and versatile, Horne is equally effective on the inside and outside of the contest.
Matthew Roberts (183cm and 81kg) – The strongly-built left-footer from Langhorne Creek is also on the radar of AFL clubs. A prolific goal kicker as a junior, Roberts has developed nicely with the Panthers to play multiple roles further up the ground.
Arlo Draper (185cm and 74kg) – Athletic medium-sized midfielder who can impact the game both inside and outside of the contest. Boasts proven leadership skills with South’s U18s and has shown an impressive ability to play well in all three areas of the field.

The real question is, which kid in the PAC boarding house is going to dominate this year?

Wow that school has banged out some talent in the last few drafts!
Isaiah Dudley our Academy lad is attending PAC.

Harry Tunkin another PAC lad to keep an eye on.

Looks like 1st round prospects Jason Horne, Arlo Draper and Matty Roberts might be heading up to the Alice for a game on the weekend?

1970crow the story might interest you.

I’d let Crouch go to gain a good pick in the draft to gain mids with x-factor

It will be very interesting to see how Crouch copes with the change of rules which has led to this fast, free-flowing game over the first 2 rounds.

Will he rack up 30 a game and keep up his late 2020 tackling exploits, or will he struggle to keep up as we’re seeing with Cripps?

If he struggles (I’m not convinced he will struggle, but we’ll know by the bye), I’m happy to let him walk too, because this end to end footy is here to stay and we need to draft and trade accordingly.
