Apologies for any inconvenience. We will try to find a replacement.
I think Hamish struggles with midfielders in particular , he’s got a certain type so there is no balance of different traitsAfter this year we probably have 17 players taken inside top 30 since Milera.
While we question the development we have managed to get Keays, Butts, Murphy, Murray out of the rookie or supplementary in that time.
Just before that Kelly, Obrien, Keith, Greenwood not going to include Laird.
In many cases our rookies are coming on better than our best picks, Butts being an example.
Something is seriously wrong with how we value or see higher picks and our drafting or development philosophy has to change
I think the North loss was very valuable - we stamped the cards of a bunch of players, and knew they weren't part of our future.
If we get pick 2, get horne to tell all clubs exactly the same excuse bailey smitb gave..it would only need to out north off and the AFL could not stop him having set the precedent with allowing smith to use the excuseWatching Thilthorpe this year has removed the memories of 2020.
Watching Horne play for us next year would remove the memory of 2021 last 5 games.
I think the ideal would be to somehow trade pick 2 if we get if for 2 picks inside the top 10 if it was possible to grab 2 high end mids. Our want for Horne seems to me like our want for Rankine/Luko in 2018
We won't finish in a bad enough position to nab him without needing a trade. We also won't quite have the capital to trade up for him - NM will want him no matter what. We'll select some other guy and throw crap at the recruiters for years as to why we didn't trade up for Horne when, in fact, it was never really possible
I'm personally fine with grabbing a Roberts/Callaghan type

Don't even need pick 2 if Horne does that, pick 4-5 will do (just need to be earlier than Port Power's pick). If we get pick 2, get horne to tell all clubs exactly the same excuse bailey smitb gave..it would only need to out north off and the AFL could not stop him having set the precedent with allowing smith to use the excuse
Whilst teams like Dogs and Pies get the creme of the crop under father son rules or NGA in recent past leaving us to not get priority access despite finishing last or second last two years in a row.Shits me that a garbage team like North will take a great talent from SA.

If it was a Victorian club they would be getting a priority pick.
Or we could be mid-table next year.given our performance on Friday, fair chance we‘re looking at another top 3 pick next year too.
Why would they do that, they have class mids running out of every orifice and that's where that pick will land because it's essentially pick 3 because Daicos and Darcy are gone and no other KPP are in that zone. It's a midfielders draft at the top end.If we’re gonna get Norths pick 1, we will need to be bold.
I can see GWS offering picks 4 & 9 for Norths pick 1. It would be a good deal for both.
Except in that deal North lose Jason Horne. If we’re gonna get Norths pick 1, we will need to be bold.

For the exact reason you just said. It’s a midfielders draft, they don’t need midfielders. May as well go chips in on the best one than get two not quite as goodWhy would they do that, they have class mids running out of every orifice and that's where that pick will land because it's essentially pick 3 because Daicos and Darcy are gone and no other KPP are in that zone. This. I'm pretty sure either Kelly, Hamish or Reid even said so in an interview somewhereOr we could be mid-table next year.
Bring back in fit Walker, Talia, Crouch, Doedee, Brown ... another year of development/preseason to Butts, Schoenberg, Berry, Sholl, Hamill ... further progress from Pedlar, McAsey, Worrell, Cook ... plus the usual dependables - our earlier results v. Cats/Dees might happen more often.
I reckon we're still topping up on draft talent this year and we'll change tack next year.
I mean, if we can't recruit another readymade KPF and Fogarty can't completely solidify himself, I wouldn't be surprised to see Tex go on into 2023And the year after (when Tex is gone).
IF we nail this year's draft as we did 2020

Milera, pick 11 2015
Doedee, pick 17 2015
Gallucci, pick 15 2016
Fogarty, pick 12 2017
Jones, pick 9 2018
McHenry, pick 16 2018
Hamill, pick 30 2018
McAsey, pick 6 2019
Schoenberg, pick 24 2019
Worrell, pick 28 2019
Thilthorpe, pick 2 2020
Pedlar, pick 11 2020
Cook, pick 25 2020
Berry, pick 28 2020
your perpetual LIES, HOW CAN ANY OF US TAKE YOU SERIOUSLY FROM NOW ON? DELETE YOUR ACCOUNT
just kidding, it seemed a lot, you were nearly there, I’ve got 13 since Milera, and we did turf the big G.
Yeah.. i find this fascination with Horne a bit over the top. As it stands it looks as if he’s going to go to North unless they decide someone else is a better option.. so if the crows desperately want him they need to trade up and that will cost an arm and a leg. North will want a heap. Our want for Horne seems to me like our want for Rankine/Luko in 2018
