Might have something to do with the fact he played different roles at different times during the year, obviously wasn't going to be selected ahead of Daicos, Hobbs or Ward in the midfield and didn't play enough at half back to be considered there, also played 2 VFL games for the Bombers and games for Sunbury in the Ballarat Football League during the season.
You will note Callaghan was named on a wing not in the midfield group also a position he played mostly early in the season.

He didnt have his best game in the granny though..was quiet when they really needed him to spark them. But his other finals were super

I thought he had a good game for a 20 year old, certainly better than a couple of the older guys considering the limited midfield minutes he was given, 26 disposals 463m gained 5 score involvements not too shabby, Maybe if they used him more around the ball he might have been able to spark them because Liberatore and Macrae certainly didn't.

Yeah i agree, he did get a bit of the ball but didnt have the hurt factor he has done as he was under real pressure and then they all got blown away late in the 3rd.
I must say macrea is one of my absolute favorite players as it is him that is usually getting that ball clear but he too was powerless. It was a hell of a thing to watch what melbourne did. If you were port or anyone else you could be forgiven thinking your window has officially closed for now

After Bevo said our club was spiteful for bidding on JUH last year, I'm hoping for all that too.
Whingeing at pick 1 and probably pick 2-3 in the last 2 years after top finishes is pretty poor

We lose lynch, talia and kelly and likely get nothing for them when 1 to 2 years ago they would have commanded heavy compo. Makes me sad that we have lost tgem all for no gain at all at tge draft table
