Sorry I got fired up, didn't realise the hanger wasn't an official publicationZero Hanger edited their story.
People here jumping the gun over compo for Jake Kelly...... Ive seen it all
Its more that if we did miss a compo pick for him, we would have got zero extra draft capital from Lynch, Talia and Kelly. I have a feeling the kelly compo if we get it is band 4 or 5 - hoping band 4 as then the pick 23 and the Melbourne 2nd might be the deal to get Dawson and we will still have a second pick around 40 to go to the draft withZero Hanger edited their story.

Agree re the list spot - but the pick around 40 allows us to offer a secon pick this year with pick 23 for Dawson if we had to and still go to the draft in that range (maybe a Cooper Murley is still on the board?)It means very little in the scheme of things, Kelly going creates a list spot which is the important bit
23 and 42 combined is equivalent to pick 13 points wise if Sydney won't come at that they can GAGF. That's absolute premium for an uncontracted player that's been in the AFL system for 6 years and had only 1 season where he's really been noticed.Agree re the list spot - but the pick around 40 allows us to offer a secon pick this year with pick 23 for Dawson if we had to and still go to the draft in that range (maybe a Cooper Murley is still on the board?)
Oh I absolutely agree. Getting that pick for Kelly means that we go to the draft with pick 4 and either the melbourne 2nd or the kelly pick which is only a few spots different. It will be interesting now to see what we do with pick 4 - hold or trade (but only after Sydney have taken our offer)23 and 42 combined is equivalent to pick 13 points wise if Sydney won't come at that they can GAGF. If we go to the draft with those two picks, what else are we taking? We have to take three selectionsOh I absolutely agree. There is a fair bit of talk that less than 60 picks will be used at this draft, so our final pick would be at the back end we have 61 which after picks get eaten up on bids might be a mid 50's pick? Anyway, picks 4, 37 and a late 50's pick is fine - there will be late value in this draft I have no doubtIf we go to the draft with those two picks, what else are we taking? I'd much prefer to give up the 2022 3rd and keep 4/37/42, instead of having to use 59 (or whatever it ends up as)
Sure can, we won't be the only club offering them a deal though.Really not sure how the points system works, but anyway we could package up our later picks 37 onwards for the bulldogs pick 17 if they desperately need points to match any bid on Darcy?
I'd probably be more comfortable using the two higher picks this year, giving up the 2022 3rd (if need be), waiting out the next season to see if anyone wants out this time next year (someone probably will) and re-filling that pick slot then. Trade Radio ....Lloyd saying a lot of the Draft kids this year may have only played 7 games in 2 years, with some having to play school footy
So some clubs will rate a player at #20 ....other clubs rating him at #55
kane saying Adelaide giving up #23 for Dawson isn't such a bad thing then, given the lottery of 20's picks this year .....problem with that is, you give up #23, you still have to Draft 3 players .....so the lottery with later picks is worse than #23 IMO
Maybe we do use those 2nd & 3rd Draft picks on Sth Aust & WA players ....who have more exposed form
Pick 42 for Jake Kelly is very handy
If we are trying to get 17 (1025 points) off the Bulldogs for points, 42 is an extra 400 points we can contribute
23 and 42 for example would be nearly +200 points to the Dogs
for sure - we are on the same page just different font so to speakI'd probably be more comfortable using the two higher picks this year, giving up the 2022 3rd (if need be), waiting out the next season to see if anyone wants out this time next year (someone probably will) and re-filling that pick slot then. 37 is nowhere near enough for Dawson. They would definitely leave it if that was our final offer. 23 will have to be part of the deal if we want to avoid the PSD.I’m thinking 37 is enough for Dawson. They won’t like it but Sydney can take it or leave it. He will get to us via PSD. No one wants to burn a list spot on a player who doesn’t want to be there. We can front load to make sure too. fu** them I say!

Saints have a couple of very decent NGA's Mitchito Owens and Marcus Windhager, both will get drafted without a doubt. Is there any other teams besides Collingwood and WB that have F/S or NGA players available?
How much further back are these picks likely to be pushed, or who else can we target to try and upgrade our picks?
It’s Sydney that need to avoid the PSD, not us. They get nothing and we still get Dawson.37 is nowhere near enough for Dawson. They would definitely leave it if that was our final offer. 23 will have to be part of the deal if we want to avoid the PSD.
I personally wouldn't take either in the ND, but who knows what the club would think in that regardAre we expected to take one of Dudley/O'loughlin? I would like to keep one of 37 and 42, but probably don't need bot.h
