I guess if we don’t draft mids we’ll know pretty early what the plan is for next year.Given how Liningston talked about guys like Ross there is no way known we are trading them. Ross has to play as an inside mid from now on
Not a lot to choose from, the same could be applied to CCJim happy to let the professionals sort it,as long as we dont waste one of our first 3 picks on a small fwd type like Jack Higgins
still cant believe we chose to use that pick on another 5'9 small fwd when wed just won the flag with Butler,Castagna,Rioli,Lambert and an up n coming Bolton

If we had gone Allen, Balta, Taylor we’d be just going mids these daysPretty bloody good draft there.

It is a great unknown, they make not make the step up to AFL (Silky Butterfly) or injury could strike.one out of 3 aint bad
- Sam Taylor, Oscar Allen, Tom McCartin, Lyan Ryan, Bailey Fritsch
Lucky we do better with our Rookie picks as opposed to our draft picks. Hopefully we don't waste our 4-5 pick this year.
Sydney chasing an early first round pick for Dawson.
One way Adelaide get that is Richmond’s pick 7 & 17(bull) for 4 & 23.

I reckon they're a chance at Callaghan at 4 otherwise they'd do well to go Wanganeen at 7 and Dawson at 15 depending how they rate Hately as an inside mid. They said no to 7 & 15 for 4 and 23 I think.
Yep I always looked back on that draft and thought we nailed it, turns out it was pretty much a no-miss draft. Even our trade of 15 for 20 + 25, brisbane picked zac bailey with 15 who is an absolute gunPretty bloody good draft there.

If we end up with 7 15 17 26 & 28 in the draft here is my current preferred options for each pick.
7 - Ben Hobbs 183cm 80kg Inside Midfielder
The kid just knows how to get first hands on the footy and when put in an AFL system should only improve on that. Would be a nice 1-2 punch alongside the bigger RCD at the coalface and would also allow the likes of Graham Ross & Dow to play more of a hybrid role.
15 - Jacob Van Rooyen 195cm 91kg KPP
With Chol and CCJ departing there is a glaring hole as a young developing KPF. Van Rooyen already has a decent size about him and has shown he can hit the scoreboard with consistency. Would be a perfect foil for Lynch when Jack moves on.
17 - Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera 187cm 70kg Outside Midfielder
NWM provides that touch of class on the outside that would have Lynch & Jack/JVR quite excited as they led up to the ball carrier. A little on the skinny side, we've got time to allow him to hit the gym and put on some size. With the likes of the Riolis Bolton Stack Pickett Parker as mentors the kid would have plenty of support around him.
26 - Rhett Bazzo 195cm 81kg KPD
With our current KPD stocks being an aging Tarrant Balta Miller (1 game) & Nyoun (0 games) I think it's important to bring in another young option that we can develop over the next couple of years for when Tarrant retires. Bazzo is a capable shutdown defender, who can also take intercept marks as well.
28 - Jack Williams 195cm 91kg KPF
From 15 games at WAFL colts level Williams kicked 40.24 while averaging 14 disposals & 6 marks a game. Alongside Van Rooyen it would be a similar tactic to what the Hawks did with Buddy and Roughy all those years ago when they brought in a couple of young KPPs to develop even though they still have some serviceable types running around.
If we could some how manage to pick up these 5 our mini rebuild/refresh will be in great shape as we would have addressed a number of areas that are currently big weaknesses in terms of our developing talent.
Using the same logic, unless NWM is the player we would be after, the player we'd take next would also be available at 17 and if we were to take NWM, could that cause Port to take best available? Remember that Port are looking to ship Ladhams out and Dixon doesn't have much longer left now he's 31.Under that scenario, Port have pick 16, I think theyd be far more likely to draft Wanganeen - Milera that Van Rooyen, they dont need another tall they already have Georgiadous who cant get a game in best 22. Much more likely for them to take the local boy. I think if JVR is there at 15 he will still be there at 17.

If JVR is the player we think is the best option, just take him
And we like them all too!Latest rumours have giants wanting Mac Andrew
Suns like mac/Gibcus/Callaghan
Crows like Callaghan and Rochelle
Maybe we trade with crows then if GWS and Suns don't want to trade. Can get Ward before hawks doLatest rumours have giants wanting Mac Andrew

Crows and Suns get royally shafted with those scenarios.Jack Ross? Isn't from Adelaide nor would that deal be close imo.

It would be his kicking which was gently alluded to I'd imagine. Otherwise he has all the traits.Sounds like a good character, a hard runner, hard worker and tackles and gets a bit of the ball. So a type we might like.
But clearly must be some significant flaws in his game to miss out on Vic Metro/combine invites.

That's what makes Marlion the super sub for as many games as he likes for the next three/four years ! LolNo way would i give up Pickett for a pick in the 30's
He has another 2 - 3 years left and is playing a position we currently dont have depth
Not to mention in 62 more games we will have 3 boys available under the father son. you never see these boys without a footy in their hands and marlion jnr is nearly 11 years old a believe
Josh Rachele would be the best of this crop.Reckon we need an elite small forward. Ours suck.
Little Butler did well in testing today
