Don’t think Hobbs is too far off that
Will be a nice size and fill out to 85/86kgs
Don’t see 4 cms making too much of a difference compared to Steele and Oliver. Yes the 10+ cms to the Bont/fyfe types is a big stretch but there’s nothing wrong with Hobbs size to me. He’s no dion/lambert he’s nearly cotch’s size with his aggression so I’m hoping we get him

Happy at 7 for sure, just not a player I would sell picks to trade up for. This draft it’s better to have a few more darts inside the top 30, as it’s a lot harder to predict with the reduction in junior footy

IMO should keep 7 & 15 unless we upgrade pick 7 for 2/3/4 and by giving up pick 26/28 & possibly pick 47

Pick 3 Callghan/Ward/Erasmus
Pick 7 One of Hobbs/Ward/Erasmus should be available
pick 15 should get a good player, whoever is left out of
Andrew/NWM/Sinn/Goater/Sonsie/Amiss/Racele

But Quaynor to his left is 180cm.

Someone's lying about their height 🤣

Hobbs and Erasmus are apparently our 2 main midfielder targets.

With Chol and CCJ leaving, the club are looking at Amiss with their first pick.

Long, JVR are still on the radar. Gibcus looking like he will be gone.

Goater and Wanganeen-Milera are a couple of other players we have kept tabs on.

I feel like I am being puncked

Hobbs has a 4 cm moon boot on his left foot

If we trade up to pick 2, we pry pick 22 from the Pies for 38 & 42.

pick 7 + 28 +47 for pick 2
pick 38 & 47 for 22

go to the draft with 2,15,22,26 plus whatever pick we get for CCJ

100%
Reckon Hobbs is our guy at 7(9)

Long way to go from draft night so the thought of moving up to pick 2/3/4 is just speculation at this point. Reckon any of Callahan, Ward or Hobbs will be great fits for our first pick. Reckon Erasmus goes to Freo who is the other one I like the look of from reports. Reckon we’re sweet with whatever we do with our first pick this year

campaigners are obsessed with bullshit , time trials, beep tests fmd , can the kid find the footy? Yes,
Recruit a kid that can get his hands on it first
Plenty of inside bulls that aren't quick that are guns
Ollie wines won a brownlow , he ain't no speedster.
Exactly, these kids all have their strengths, he'd compliment our younger mids as he offers something a bit different

Unless you work for the Richmond Recruiting team you wouldnt have this level of inside knowledge. If you did work at Richmond and you published this on big footy and they found out youd be sacked. I think these are the players you hope we get rather than what you think you know.

SAINT'S YOUNGER BROTHER A COMBINE STANDOUT
SAM BUTLER impressed at the Vic Country NAB AFL Draft Combine last week, finishing in the top-two in all bar one test.

The state-based Combine saw regional-based prospects test at Bendigo last week, with potential first-round pick Butler a standout.

The younger brother of St Kilda forward and 2017 Richmond premiership player Dan claimed the best 20-metre sprint time with a run of 2.97 seconds, was second in the standing vertical jump test (71cm) and second in the running vertical jump (87cm).

Bendigo prospect Cooper Hamilton won the 2km time trial with a run of 5:48 minutes ahead of Hamish Sinnott and Mitchell Knevitt and Tom Brown, the son of former Geelong player Paul, claimed the standing vertical jump with a leap of 72cm.

Possible top-10 pick Josh Gibcus took out the running vertical jump but his result of 89cm was shorter than he jumped due to the circumstances of the testing outdoors under COVID-safe protocols.

Due to the inclement weather the jumps had to be conducted under an awning, with Gibcus jumping higher than the awning device. The flying defender's personal best is 95cm, which was recorded at the NAB League testing day earlier this year. – Callum Twomey

20m sprint
Sam Butler (GWV Rebels) 2.970 seconds

I wouldn’t be surprised to see come draft night one or two of the players that are seen as top 10 fall right into late 20’s.

Callaghan, Hobbs, Andrews, Erasmus, Ward, Gibcus, Sinn, Sonsie, Rachelle, Roberts, Amiss

Theres 11 players after the first three that have all been mentioned inside the top 10 at different times.

There is going to be alot of very decent prospects around from pick 15- pick 30.
I am not overly fussed in trading up from pick 7, I’d be far more interested in gaining bulldogs pick 17, Gold Coasts pick 19 and Norths pick 20.

Looks like he has a moon boot on left foot which prob adds a few cms

Not that I think his size is an issue - def a good size and still growing me thinks - he woudl be a different player to Bont/Fyfe/Dusty - more of a Libba, Oliver type

I reckon he’s a Taylor Adams clone who we are screaming out for and always Murders us when we play collingwood.
The more I think about us getting Hobbs the more excited I am. He or Ward are who I want as they fill our highest need of a young potential A grade genuine mid (Bolton is a hybrid forward/mid). Think Callahan is no chance of getting through to us even if we move up as I don’t see us getting pick 2 off GWS who will definitely take him imo
