I reckon Stack and Pickett, as they've been rookies the longest. My guess is we elevate Stack and Mansell?
Primary lists must have between 36 and 38 players. Category A rookies are capped at 4-6, up to a total of 42 players on a list including primary-listed players. Each club can also have two Category B rookies. What's the minimum you need on the senior list?
Whats the max?36 is the minimum

38Whats the max?
It doent really matter who the two are tbh. Only thing the rookie list does these days is allow the minimum wage portion of their salary to be paid outside the salary cap and I dont think any of them have done their maximum 4 years on there. My guess is we elevate Stack and Mansell?
My thinking is that we'll take 4 picks in the ND which will leave 1 spot for the PSD, SSP or MSD.Based on our current list of 29 senior listed and 6 rookies we currently have 7 senior list vacancies. You'd expect 2 current rookies being elevated to give us 5 picks in the draft. Which suggests that there will be a trade of some sort to either move up the order of into the 2022 draft, and give us 2 spots available for bringing Cumberland and Nyoun back.

We will have five spots from my understanding.Yep . .I know egg was a rookie ..was I mistaken in thinking if we delisted Garth that we then had five senior list spots available ..?
Im thinking an agreement of sorts has been reached with a club like Bulldogs or Pies which have too many picks and not enough places to do the trade now and needing to have it done on draft night but we also need the spots to carry these picks into the draft. OR The club feels that we would like to keep our options open incase a player we think that might be available late is there to draft.I think the trade wont happen till live in the draft. and my bet is maybe St Kilda looking for points to match on the NGA kids once the bid comes and trade in a future pick from them. If a pick swap trade comes before the ND then the delisting of both Biggie and Cumberland wasnt really needed.
I hear what you're saying, most clubs will know that we're wanting to trade out 2 picks this year. There's going to be a whole lot of permutations and combinations available to the club in dealing those picks. We could trade both for an early 2nd round next year, package 38 + 28 for a 1st round next year, trade both for an early 2nd this year and then package that and 28 for an earlier 1st next year. The opportunities of cashing in are going to turn up and I, for one, am glad that we're keeping our powder dry.I guess it depends their current list size and available spots but any chance someone like Hawthorn who is looking to rebuild would be interested in trading their pick 21 or 24 for our picks 38 & 40?
I know these picks will most likely all drop 2 spots but having picks 7,15,24,26 & 28 would be ok by me. Also means hawks get an extra crack at a kid with picks 5,21,38 & 40
He's a late pick up type but might also be the first kid to earn a game too.Confident in Our WA man if he says yes.
Look at our WA gems.
Broad
Baker
Pickett

Doesn't Soldo have to come back onto the main list ?This is wrong.
we have 6 rookies already Stack, Pickett Miller, Parker, Aarts, Mansell.Assuming we resign miller, we will need to elevate two. We ended up with 7 rookies to end last season as we took parker and moved soldo to the LTI.
We will be taking 7 live picks to the draft as thats how many senior list spots we have avaliable and that wont change unless we decide to delist a contracted player now. Rookie elevation are made in the draft, so regardless we are taking all our current picks to the draft to, we will most likely take 4-5 picks in the draft but try to live trade picks 38 and 40 for either aearlier pick or a future pick.Thenuse picks that hold no value we are given t the end of the draft for 2 rookie elevations to make space for biggie and cumberland who we have committed too.
I imagine we will try to keep Pickett on the rookie list to absorb 50% of his wage.I reckon Stack and Pickett, as they've been rookies the longest.
Like you, I'm excited. To think that we have won three recent flags, some of our players are hall of fame material and certainly legends amongst the Richmond faithfull, even poor old Castagna is a THREE TIME PREMIERSHIP PLAYER LOL...and yet here we are with a fat draft hand, a bunch of current kids desperate to get game time, keeping the pressure on the old boys and up to 8 or 10 new high draft picks coming into the club over the next 2 years. We are stacked with talent and opportunities. There will be plenty of competition for spots next year. Our VFL team will be very competitive with so much relatively unproven talent already on the list plus at least 5 high draft picks coming into the side, all fighting for spots and developing together.
These 5 or 6 picks are coming earlier than our first pick last year - Sampson Ryan Pick 40. This puts it into perspective for me. Picks we have used in recent previous drafts at 40 or below include Dow (2019 Pick 21), RCD (2018 Pick 20), Higgins, CJ & Balta (2017 Pick 17, 20 & 25), Bolton (2016 Pick 29) and Rioli (2015 Pick 15).
Most of these players are some of our best young talent, particularly Bolton and Balta. With 6 picks at or below 40 and two early selections, we really can set ourselves up with some a core of talent to build our future side around.
Exciting times.
Great post and agree.I guess it depends their current list size and available spots but any chance someone like Hawthorn who is looking to rebuild would be interested in trading their pick 21 or 24 for our picks 38 & 40?

Na doesn't work like that. Rookie list only covers up to minimum rookie wage.I imagine we will try to keep Pickett on the rookie list to absorb 50% of his wage.
