Norf Board when we Gil reads out.Pick #1.Richmond Football Club.where else would people be melting?
My preference there would be Callaghan or Hobbs from that listWhich one of Callaghan, Hobbs, Amiss, Erasmus or Andrews will we draft with pick 7?
The odds are pretty high it will be one of them, as in 8 out of the last 10 years we have drafted with our first pick a player with a surname ending in N or S.
My preference there would be Callaghan or Hobbs
I’m not sure we’d look at Andrew with our first BUT as we’ve said plenty of times best available and we can only guess what order Clarke and co top 9 is.
Sounds an exciting prospect.Rachele has been likened to Toby Greene...

Dees with the new man on the mark rule. Us without it. They play more attractive footy, but I still maintain that our game plan was the most effective I have ever seen. The AFL changed the rules twice to disrupt it.Curious do you think if our 2020 side played against the 2021 grand final Demons team we would win ?

I said next year. My whole idea is about improving our draft position next year to get some more talls that are in short supply this year.
You still are missing the point, I'm not talking about this from Collingwood's perspective, simply that you don't see many trades of future picks from the same round due to the risk involved in the trade itself back firing and resulting in a pick downgrade" You don't see too many trades of future picks in the same round as clubs know it's risky and if they have a bad year with things like injuries could end up downgrading a pick rather than upgrading it. "
This was the post i replied to and was making the point that teams like collingwood dont have a choice to wait for organic picks and must trade in more picks to accelerate the rebuild 'RISKING THEIR FUTURE PICK' even if it goes bad
1 pick at 2 and another at 62 is not going to cut it.
Which is why our 6th pick is an interesting one. Sacrifice Cumberland / Biggie (assuming Stack gets signed), or trade this. I was thinking trade it to 2022, but this point is the problem. Straight 3rd swap with a team and we take the risk. They get a high 3rd this year (we are struggling to use), and we get a 3rd next (probably not as good). Or another thought is trade our 6th pick and future 3rd with a future 2nd back. Again we are overs but get another 2nd next year. You still are missing the point, I'm not talking about this from Collingwood's perspective, simply that you don't see many trades of future picks from the same round due to the risk involved in the trade itself back firing and resulting in a pick downgrade
Certainly the risk is much lower if you are in the later rounds and especially if you are talking about picks that may not be used at all due to lack of list spots.Which is why our 6th pick is an interesting one. Then we keep all our current rookies too

picks will get pushed back so won't be the 7th best player in the draft at pick 7, will be the 9th, etc. so its cool info just not relevant to ours picksInteresting history if we keep our first 4 picks.(7/15/26& 28)

I know a lot of experts have him sliding, but I'm still super keen on Ned Long with one of our second round picks. Smart, big bodied mid with high endurance.
The rumour earlier in the year was that we were trying to hide him a bit. I hope that is the case and we get ourselves a bargain.
