A first year draftee isn't going to come in and perform better than either Ryan or Nankervis and the more you look into them the less impressive they appear so you don't want to be picking one just because you need one.

Have a look at the list of available kids here outside Gibcus Amiss Van Rooyen & Bazzo how many would anyone be keen on taking at our picks inside 30?

Cal Twomey in his latest power rankings has Bazzo at 33 Van Rooyen at 21 Amiss at 11 Gibcus at 7. I'm not a fan of Andrew as I reckon it's hype that has pushed him up the rankings, but at his weight you're looking at least 4-5 years of development before you'll get any sort of return on investment.

I honestly think that’s where we would go back to 17/18 and play Caddy as the second tall. Why not when he has lost his spot on the wing and seemingly has no other way back in. He kicked 40+ goals in 2018 and there’s always Dusty. Fritsch was the most dangerous Melbourne forward all year and most of the time the talls were just decoys in brown and McDonald. There’s plenty of different ways to work around the forward mix in 2022.

The following off season is where I think we’ll target a few forwards when the quality especially draft wise seemingly is there!

Shifter Sheehan would’ve talked up Blaine Boekhurst. Put him into the “never take seriously” file with Kane Cornes and Matt Rendell.

I think Erasmus is less likely to get to 15 than Hobbs especially factoring in the WA clubs. That would mean Erasmus is passed by other clubs including Freo twice and then West Coast, unlikely. Unlikely Freo banking on Erasmus at 19 to

He is coming off a 50 goal season where we at times were hopeless going inside 50, he still has his leap as well. Calling 2022 his last and predicting a drastic decline seems a bit premature

Perhaps, but the reverse could happen and teams rate the Vic kids on potential and rerate the WA/SA kids as just getting more exposure. The Vic kids have been rated for a few years and it's not like they played zero games. In July Sinn and Chesser in one rating were at 13/14 ahead of Johnson, who still was at 17. So I would love them to be there at our late 20s picks, but we'll see.

We will be lucky to get 1 of the first 4. Chesser definitely seems a potential slider.
