No?Andrew has the most potential, definitely. He does show some capability up forward but as you say not many runs on the board. And will go before our pick.
No.
Think they'll see what xtra they get out of crows & haw then us.Shane Mumford just confirmed he's retired, so you reckon GWS might be more open to drafting Andrew and potentially moving back a few picks?
Superficially, perhaps. But a fair gap in quality. Andrew the better athlete, more competitive, better at ground level, better in the air.
Opportune time to bring in a exciting key forward prospect to be tutored under jack and lynch , that doesn’t come around too often . Look forward this selectionI agree with you, I’d go mids myself but still have faith that Dow, Ross, RCD and others can be pretty decent senior mids. But if we can snag a top liner using our strong draft hand, then we should do so but look also at KPP as that’s also an area we need more depth in

Biggy has some qualities and if he fulfills his potential he might make it as a key or zoning back. But if Andrew fulfills his he's a star of the comp.

We won't be playing Jack at the number 1 option, he'll be second fiddle to a fit and healthy Lynch and if opposition coaches are thinking like some here, they might not even bother to put an opponent on him given Jack is all but finished as a footballer apparently.Jack has lost his key asset, the spring and a bit of his power on-on one. That is age. He is still very crafty however and most of his goals this year came from reading the play. Hawkins was absolutely pansed by a 22 year old Sam Taylor like I have never seen him beaten. But when you are the focal point you still get good service. Kennedy was much the same. Buddy had his first good year in a while, but Buddy is like Richo, a supreme athlete so can keep it going longer.
Jack may survive a bit longer, but not as the key forward who gets up to the wing and back to the forward half like he has done the last few years. Needs to play a third tall I think. So we are a forward short, hence the Chol and CCJ development. I'd love to see how Miller goes as a forward, we know he can play back but as we are so short of forward backup it would be good to see him train over summer as both. He has the physical attributes which is half the requirements at least. And it would stop people like me wanting Balta to go forward.... unless it doesn't work out.
If he was that good he'd be top 10.For me best available at 7 and if Van Rooney is there at 15 take him.People forgetting how good this kid is super talented.
Doesn't happen very often. If Andrew reaches his ceiling potential we'll all be in awe. He's very very good - potentially. Going from raw kid to superstar is more often a bust than a hit.
"Who did Hobbs have for Country challenging him in that way? Knevitt was a different type, Goater was less inside. Set ruck scenario which can skew inside prowess."
You're either inferring Goater was playing for Country or can't speak proper english, which would you prefer?
And again, if Macdonald and Rachele didn't get your attention, you didn't watch it, considering Macdonald won the same amount of ball and clearances as Hobbs, and Rachele got 20 and kicked a goal, so please stop talking with no knowledge [emoji847]
Lynch needs a quality foil or oppos will just hang off him and shut him down. Samson Ryan could very well be getting paid $600 to play suburban footy by 2023. He was drafted as an overage brisbane academy player who Brisbane didn't even want. I must've seen Jayden Post 20 times playing for my local team never saw him kick more than 3 goals. The standard of Queensland football is bloody ordinary. A boss at work talked his son up because he was in the Brisbane academy also a few years ago. He's playing Victorian amateurs now. Colina mysteriously never even showed up for the Willy game this year and could amount to nothing or could take a few years (personally i hope he's a success cos i loved seeing stafford plonked in the square stick his mitts up and be unstoppable, also is good ties for in a few years where teams will throw the kitchen sink at old cousin Balta). Forgive me for having little faith in an old fart, a potential spud and a bloke who's priority is in America ATM as our KPF's to reliably kick bags deep into September. I'd hate to see Richmond back to the old days where we had spuds like Todd Bremen, Steven Jackson, Stephen Ryan, Stuard Edwards, Steven Jurica, Aaron James, etc as our tall forward options. Having another decent mid like a hobbs, ward, rachelle, erasmus won't be much good if they've got no one to kick it to.I think you're hitting unwarranted panic stations here with our key forward situation. So say Jack is done by the end of next season, which is a fair call. Lynch still has a few years, Ryan will be 22, and a developing Colina (never seen him play of course, but I assume as a basketballer, he is mobile).
They don't play like Jack, but Lynch and Ryan could a a good dual tall set up, with another mid-sized forward we pick up in this draft and will have 12 months development by next season start.
Probably why we were happy to offer up pretty much our whole draft hand to get pick 1 off North. Then none are worth drafting as RCD is shithouse.
Barring Jack's 300th his last 7 or 8 games were bloody ordinary. Unsure what he did in the final round cos that game was a complete farce.Josh Kennedy is 34 and kicked 41 goals this season
Buddy is 35 in January and kicked 51 goals this season
Hawkins is 33 and kicked 62 this season.
Jack kicked 51 this season and you're suggesting his on his last legs in 2022.
If he was that good he'd be top 10.
Select best available at 7 & 15.
Freakish forwards remind me of Troy Taylor.
The entire teak was cooked for that part of the seasonBarring Jack's 300th his last 7 or 8 games were bloody ordinary. Unsure what he did in the final round cos that game was a complete farce.
Like a lot of our premiership stars, Jack was banged up in the second half of the season. Got himself primed for his 300th and before the bye had kicked 33 goals from 13 games. No reason he can't have a season like those guys had last year coming off a full preseason and with any niggled sorted after having a full break before preseason begins.Barring Jack's 300th his last 7 or 8 games were bloody ordinary. Our whole ball movement and forward line play will change over this off season, with Teague renowned for his ability to make a teams offense pretty potent. Lynch won’t be hanging back wrestling in the square next season imo. Teague will use his strengths and that will hopefully help Jack and the other forwards too.Lynch needs a quality foil or oppos will just hang off him and shut him down. Troy Taylor was a freak could have been anything !
Unsure where i wrote the entire last 7 or 8 games were lost by Riewoldt alone. Riewoldt however was giving away stupid frees, flying for marks he was never going to take, wasting times arguing with the umpires when majority of the times the calls were right he was holding or whatever was called. Some of his efforts were putrid. At the end of the day father time waits for no one. There's a reason Dunstall, Ablett Snr, Locket and Doug Wade aren't still getting a kick. The entire teak was cooked for that part of the season
Can't put it all on Jack
The reason why balta will not play forward is because our backline is only good for a couple of years. Balta is going to have to learn to be the general down back because our current tall backmen will all be at retirement age. Where will our backline be then if Balta has not learnt the role? Use some common senses. Balta can swing forward, ruck etc but not permanently, and not for long. Why should we let it go. I think his talents are wasted down back. Alex Rance was the best defender in the last 20 years, hoping that Balta will turn into the next Rance is very optimistic. So half Balta's time will be spent locking down a forward, with a bit of luck he will win his share of contests like Astbury or even Harris Andrews at best. Besides Rance name another attackiing weapon from the backline playing. I can think of none.
At CHF considered the most important position of the ground he has the full scope to use his assets creatively. Poswerful runner, very good in the air, great at ground level and can kick goals from 60 metres. There is a bit of Richo about him. He turns games when he plays ruck and can do things no other ruckman can do. He is a potential weapon that is learning the game, so backline has been good for him. Who knows what he can become.
Stack to me would be wasted up forward because he has the potential to be anything. Midfielder gun in waiting. If he is not fit enough just yet, then ease him into it, which may mean resting forward or playing the swingman like against the Hawks.
If ya ask Troy Taylor the problem was Richmond didn't buy his mum a house. Wonder if he ended up back in jail?Phil Egan told me he was the best ( indigenous)potential forward he had ever seen . Problem was he had issues

For some the glass is half full, for others it’s half empty… and for a select few the glass has a massive ****ing hole in the bottom!Like a lot of our premiership stars, Jack was banged up in the second half of the season.
