Missed 10 weeks early this year with a hamstring. 18yo speedsters who do serious, early hammys is a red flag imo.
Not sure it as a true 10 week hammy. Firstly, there was a month gap between round 4 and round 5 when we were in yet another lockdown, secondly it's possible that the extended break he had was to give him time to build fitness back up again and thirdly he could have been playing school football which a lot of the highly rated kids do during the year given the schools competition is also a big competition the private schools love to win.

By the sounds of that GWS are going to take Andrew at pick 2. Which will push Callaghan to Adelaide at 3 I would be guessing. Interesting they have Rachele in the top bracket of players and not Hobbs, or ward.
Doesn't suprise me, Rachele could be anything.

Zac Taylor looks like he could be the steal of the draft if he lasts until the 20's.

Very slight but that disposal and speed looks elite. Will probably start as a small forward before he puts on some size.
Hope we take him @15

I'm sure the medicos would be all over it. You may be right but if he slides badly that's probably the reason you'd think. Yellow flag then.

The people who run the teams , often unpaid - have lives too.

Edit. For tax cup anyway. I dunno how state games work
I'm sure Dimma and the club are happy too help the kids.
Dimma:"I want the following kids to have a stinker.
Callaghan/Hobbs/Gibcus/Ward & Taylor.
While your hear boys checkout your lockers".

I read that very differently.

GWS want the best player they can get, who fits in with their squad. Callaghan is more outside and forward, and possibly a bit unlike their mainly see ball get ball midfield. Gibcus = a KPD that they will need a few years. Rachele pure talent to improve their ability to score without dominating the midfield (like Greene without the stupidity). Andrew = future ruck forward with sky high potential.

I'd read that article as saying they are likely to go for the player that can fill a hole in their list. Right here and now I'd guess that Callaghan is that guy. For the future the other 3 come in. To me if they select Callaghan that frees them up to move on another midfielder (or 2) in a trade (or 2). GWS has options most other clubs don't.

What they really need is a genuine mature top end KPF - which isn't what they can draft. So look at both their current list and what they can do into the future.

They have exams on weekends?
They don't but the kids are likely to be studying or looking to wind down. Secondly imagine a kid does a knee or breaks a leg in a trial game at this stage, their 2022 season is done and they probably don't even get drafted.

I'd be jumping out of my skin too show my skills in front of AFL clubs.
No different at anytime of the year if a kid does a knee.
In fact this time of the year he'd have s better chance of getting picked up than earlier in the year.
Clubs have a fair idea who's who.

Fellas, just interested in hearing your opinions regarding draft targets - I'm doing a mock draft on our board and I'm representing Richmond.

What are areas of need? I'm assuming midfield is a key area to address.
Hopefully 4 mids 1 kpp

Charlie Dean won the Round/Fothergill for best young player (u21) in the VFL I believe. Tall forward. Late or rookie pick.

From Knightmare draft guru
Pick 61 - St Kilda - Charlie Dean
Fothergill-Round-Mitchell Medalist for the VFL most promising. Love his resilience, seen as a potential first round pick heading into 2019, he goes undrafted but continues putting in the work and improving his craft and has a terrific year in the VFL this season. Strong 1v1, good intercepter, sound skills. He's a ready-to-go key defender and one of the VFL's very best. Also as a teacher at Wesley College

I really hope we're in to him , but our last pick at 30 maybe to early.
