Depends who the Saints want. Would 15 and say 26 get their pick 9 (11)?Strong chance the way its looking we'll have a choice between Hobbs & Ward.
The question is.Should we throw the kitchen sink at Both Freo & Stk to get either of the next 2 picks that would get us both?
Paddy Ryder was a similar weight when drafted. He is only 95kg now after 15 years in the system. Played 9 matches in his first season, 21 for the next 5.I can appreciate you really like Andrew but the comparison to Fyfe is way off. Fyfe was 187cm and 75kg when drafted. He was arguably BOG in the WA Colts Grand Final but was playing as a 3rd forward leading up the ground (think Ryan O'Keefe role that was popular at the time). You can play as a half forward or wingman at that weight despite it not being ideal. Andrew plays in the ruck and there is absolutely no way you can play that position below 90kg.
Andrew strikes me as one of those prospects that is an absolutely unreasonable gamble in a position that I do not think is a need or for that matter overly important. Oakley-Nichols or Tom Williams like drafting on the basis of upside usually yields really poor results.
I thought the way it's looking is Hawks to take Ward. Who have you heard they are likely to take? For both to be there, it would mean Gibcus, Andrew probably both taken, or Rachelle? I have only heard Ward linked to Hawks, but that could be just his openly known desire to get there.Strong chance the way its looking we'll have a choice between Hobbs & Ward.

He pretty well much fell into the position of being a ruck, when hill went down with a knee in 1st q against pies Anzac day,,paddy stepped up won the medal, and so he became a genuine ruckPaddy Ryder was a similar weight when drafted. If you know how to play you can be a good ruckman like Ryder was right from the start. Not many do, but we haven't seen his type of player (with his build and athleticism) touted top 10 since Ryder maybe all those years ago.
Would prefer to keep 15.But wouldn't be against it if it meant we get 9.Depends who the Saints want. Would 15 and say 26 get their pick 9 (11)?
Bad luck for Hill, good luck for Paddy. Have always had a soft spot for Ryder, even he played for that team. Beautiful footballer and still is.He pretty well much fell into the position of being a ruck, when hill went down with a knee in 1st q against pies Anzac day,,paddy stepped up won the medal, and so he became a genuine ruck
Hawks won't pass up on Callaghan if he's still on the table.I thought the way it's looking is Hawks to take Ward. Who have you heard they are likely to take? Richmond has 5 picks in the top 30, this can be used to transform the list.
Take 5 to the draft and back the professionals to do their job
Agreed whole heartedlyBad luck for Hill, good luck for Paddy. Have always had a soft spot for Ryder, even he played for that team. Beautiful footballer and still is.
Not really a fan of throwing the kitchen sink as you always get left with no sinkStrong chance the way its looking we'll have a choice between Hobbs & Ward.

If Francis, Daicos, Darcy, Mac, Gibcus, Callaghan, Rachelle are gone in the first 7. That will leave Ward and Hobbs next, how do we get both ?
Swap 15 & 26 for St Kilda's 9 & 55.
If the rules allow, swap 9 & 27 for Freo's pick 6 & 61.
This will give us 6 & 7 to get Ward & Hobbs and Freo 8 & 9 to get 2 WA boys Erasmus & Amiss
That leave us 28, 55, 61 to plug any holes along with Hobbs & Ward.
Agree. I think we can pretty safely assume that Freo will be taking Erasums and Amiss after what has gone on with Cerra. If Freo are prepared to do that trade it means they aren't going to draft either Ward or Hobbs anyway and they have decided to take the 2 WA boys. In this case no need to do the second trade, just take Ward and Hobbs with 7 & 9.
But if that sink is of Hobbs & Ward it makes life alot more easier with our next picks in the 20's.Not really a fan of throwing the kitchen sink as you always get left with no sink
My preference would be to either use our 2 x 20's selections to get another 15-20 range or 1 x 20's pick plus 2022 2nd rounder to get a 15-20 pick
I would be very happy to take 5 picks with 3 inside 20

They won't have the chance to pass on Callighan. There is I guess a small chance he gets passed on by both GWS and Suns, highly doubt it though. But I guess it's fun to speculate on this possibilty Ward gets to pick 9. A slider happens every year.Hawks won't pass up on Callaghan if he's still on the table.
Crows are very keen on Rachele.
Freo will take a local.
Hobbs is for the now(next year) whereas Ward is seen as for the future with abit more upside than Hobbs.
Would be ideal to get both and while developing Ward we can get a clearer picture on the likes of RCD/Dow & Martyn.
Maybe. But if it’s a chance to get someone like Ward or Gibcus who has slid, I’d be prepared to do itYour paying way overs there !.
But if that sink is of Hobbs & Ward it makes life alot more easier with our next picks in the 20's.
Or even better use those 20's picks for say Freos 19.
7-Hobbs
9-Ward
19-Bazzo/Taylor/Chesser/Brown etc
Leave one spot open for the mid season draft or a later pick on someone like Dean.
For me the key is Hobbs & Ward.
Means next year we can target KPs
Nat Fyfe slipped to pick-20 largely because of his 70Kg skinny frame. Mac Andrew is a lot taller but is now 80kg …. so if he’s available at our first pick bypass him at our peril.

How many mids do both need? They won't have the chance to pass on Callighan. There is I guess a small chance he gets passed on by both GWS and Suns, highly doubt it though. But I guess it's fun to speculate on this possibilty Ward gets to pick 9. A slider happens every year.
We'll get a better idea on how loud the jungle drums are with him in the few days before the draft.
I would really like Hawthorn to be able to get a deal done with GWS for Callaghan I.e somehow get pick 2. That would then most likely drop Ward or Hobbs to our pick without us having to swap with anyone.Hawks won't pass up on Callaghan if he's still on the table.
