So like everyone else I've been in the camp of we need to bring in a young inside midfielder to help us in the engine room, but after watching the likes of RCD Ross Martyn Dow & Graham play against the Hawks last week and holding their own against the likes of Mitchell O'Meara Worpel & Wingard, plus some of those younger blokes have shown at the VFL level that they are more than capable of being clearance/contested ball winners.

However another thing that we seem to be lacking is class on the outside. If you look at our wingers neither KMac or Pickett are what you'd call great users of the footy. KMac is more of a bang it forward in anyway possible, while Pickett can be a bit smoother, he doesn't really get big numbers to do damage as a winger.

Which has me thinking about going the other direction at the draft with our first 2 picks and taking kids that have a bit of speed and class about them on the outside. Sandringham Dragons pair Josh Sinn(186cm/82kg) and Campbell Chesser(186cm/83kg) are a couple that fit the criteria that would give us exactly that.

Adding 2 players like them alongside Bolton Graham Ross RCD Dow Martyn Ralpshmith & Cumberland would give us a well rounded young midfield group for the future.

Would still like Ward and Ned Long is a target too

If we were to not pick a mid with our first pick Amiss would be a nice get
Slotted a beauty from the boundary on his left just before half time in the Champs game currently being played.

- Geez, Van Rooyen looks very good playing as a KPD today.

- Bazzo also looks good as a intercepting defender.

- Jye Amiss will get picked by Freo at pick 6, lock that in.
hopefully Cerra goes elsewhere and we can take him at 7 looks a jet. All 3 of the above look great.

I have been wanting Van Rooyen & Bazo for a while and today the kid loked right at home across the backline as did Bazzo
#7 - Erasmus
#16 - Van Rooyed
#26 - Ned Long
#28 - Rhett Bazo

I am now in the boat of not wanting to trade for the doggies pick but rather trade 2 or 3 of the 3rd rounders we may have for another pick in the early 20's
between 20-28 range

Most are saying we need a KPF and KPD, so Van Rooyen make huge sense as looks like he can play both adequately. Imagine him and Balta switching between defence and forward. It’s a nice thought

Will he be there at the Geelong first rounder though? Be awesome to snag an elite mid at our pick and then Van Rooyen at the Geelong pick

I made a comparison here a few weeks ago to Oscar Allen and he does appear very much like Allen
Can play foward and Back.

I would take him with the geelong pick and Erasmus or Ward/ Gibcus if available

This draft could be a fantastic draft to restock the KPP on our list

Erasmus looks set to be gone before we can get him sadly, Freo will have carltons pick ahead of us, Would like to see us go Ward/Hobbs(if available) or even take the punt on Rachele. I imagine Gibcus to GWS since they dont need mids

I am starting think Ward/Hobbs/Gibcus will be gone before our picks

In that case i would love to pick up Rachele and Roberts with our first two, The type of player Rachele is, he has the potential to be the best big game player of the draft
Agree. If we can get Tom Green next year a player like Rachele would be perfect. Green/RCD/Graham as our bulls and then mid/forward hybrids like Rachele and Ned Long to complement. Would like us to look at Wanganeen-Milera as a winger as well.

Not sold on tom greene. Slow and cant run a game out. Maybe anotther big preseason might help.

He’d already be our best mid now

he’s going to be a jet if not already.

also just played with a broken bone. That’s tough as ****.

Green and Hopper are pretty much the same they are bulls but slow. Both good skills. We need one or two more of this style and some further class on the outside. Unless of course there is a Sam Walsh clone at 7 cause that kid does it all !

Stuff paying overs for other clubs players, with the draft hand we have, just pick our own! No to Green and Hopper, far too expensive in draft capital and salary. And neither will leave GWS anyway imo
Choose wisely and we will have 10-15 year players at discount wages, at least initially

up to yesterday only seen brief highlights which were impressive and while he was good he has an ungainly kicking style. Something about getting the ball to boot smoothly is not quite natural.

Not a criticism just an observation. We need kpp and he may be top 3 talls.
