Agree about style but as the leading goal kicker in the Colts he kicks effectively.up to yesterday only seen brief highlights which were impressive and while he was good he has an ungainly kicking style. Something about getting the ball to boot smoothly is not quite natural.
Not a criticism just an observation. We need kpp and he may be top 3 talls.
I would have thought it would have been a bad omen for a Full Forward to have the name A Miss. Just me? or does anyone else see the irony lol
Amiss by name not by nature, He was very good in the championship game, But yeah its quite ironicI would have thought it would have been a bad omen for a Full Forward to have the name A Miss. Just me? or does anyone else see the irony lol

Yeah 2So is our first pick going to be pushed back by how many? Two?
Would love Erasmus to get to us at #7, we need a lot go right for him to slide that far.I have been wanting Van Rooyen & Bazo for a while and today the kid loked right at home across the backline as did Bazzo
#7 - Erasmus
#16 - Van Rooyed
#26 - Ned Long
#28 - Rhett Bazo
I am now in the boat of not wanting to trade for the doggies pick but rather trade 2 or 3 of the 3rd rounders we may have for another pick in the early 20's
between 20-28 range
We would need for Carltons deal for Cerra to fall through, And freo to not deal with a team that has a pick higher then us, Ward seems unlikely to fall to 16Would love Erasmus to get to us at #7, we need a lot go right for him to slide that far.
A bit of a reach for Van Rooyen. at 16, would prefer Ward or Goater
I dont mind reaching for Van Rooyen at #16Would love Erasmus to get to us at #7, we need a lot go right for him to slide that far.

Yes you'd think so, but he's actually a dead eye dick. Has kicked something like 49/11. Maybe someone can correct me there with the latest. Was likened to JR in one review.I would have thought it would have been a bad omen for a Full Forward to have the name A Miss. Just me? or does anyone else see the irony lol
Van Rooyen is ordinary. Go watch his performance against cats reserves earlier this year. Got creamed by ordinary 2nd players. SA have no decent KPP's that's why all WA backs looked good. drafting him with either first rounder or even our second rounders is a mistake. I trust our recruiting team are aware. Most are saying we need a KPF and KPD, so Van Rooyen make huge sense as looks like he can play both adequately. Imagine him and Balta switching between defence and forward. It’s a nice thought
Will he be there at the Geelong first rounder though? Be awesome to snag an elite mid at our pick and then Van Rooyen at the Geelong pick
Very good summary, agree with all of the aboveSA WA championship game was pretty good footy.
Liked:
-Amiss; looks to be a straight up key forward. Great set shot and good hands on the lead. Looks like someone who could be a great complimentary 2nd tall.
-Van Rooyen; very very athletic. Looked a lot stronger then his opponents and was pretty active in the air and on the ground.
-Roberts; looks a very solid midfield prospect. Was skilful and clean against the flow of the game. He moves well in traffic and skills were quality.
-Johnson (WA); looks very very silky and clean. Reminded me of Dal Santo. Played on Horne for alot of the game and I thought had the better of Horne.
- Williams(WA); really great size and great presence in the air. Haven’t actually looked at his Height but moved very well for a big up forward. Looked to me like a late draft pick development.
-Bazzo; going to be a very good key back for a long time in the AFL. Very composed and good in the air. Smart with the footy and knows how to play back already at a young age. Would be very happy with him with any pick outside of the pick 7 we have.
They were the players that stood out to me.
South the WA ruckman really battled the game out hard. Motlop for WA was very lively. Burgoynes son is very light but looked very much like Peter with the ball, without the ball he was very suspect, will be chance to play AFL.
Horne-Francis was disappointing to me. Looks strong at stoppages and uses the ball very very well and I can see why he is sort after. But his work around the ground to link up in chains was non existent. From what I watched, his touches were mainly from stoppage work. Needs to work on his ability to affect the game in transition.
I really want Amiss but from what I've read so far that would be a reach. Probably the 10-20 mark is more likely.Wouldn't mind if we got Amiss with pick 7 if Erasmus was off the board.
And double bonus with Doggies winning, Bombers "days since won a final count" continues to rise.I dont mind reaching for Van Rooyen at #16
If you want that player you just take him
Im also glad the doggies won today and their pick wont be too high and costing too much where brisbane / geelong will be temted to trade for them
I think gun mid, 2 of the WA talls and a small forward or another mid would be an excellent result from first 4 picks.SA WA championship game was pretty good footy.

That would be amazing if that could happenI think gun mid, 2 of the WA talls and a small forward or another mid would be an excellent result from first 4 picks.
I saw one Phantom Draft that with players available at our relative picks something along the lines of Hobbs, Amiss, Van Rooyen (was picked for us), Butler and then they had us taking Bazzo in the 40's.
the headlines write themselvesI would have thought it would have been a bad omen for a Full Forward to have the name A Miss. Just me? or does anyone else see the irony lol
Im not looking forward to it, Its set to be the same thing as Gold Coast, where it is the same headline pun everytime they win, Something to do Sunshine, Sunset or Heatthe headlines write themselves
- Geez, Van Rooyen looks very good playing as a KPD today.
- Bazzo also looks good as a intercepting defender.
- Jye Amiss will get picked by Freo at pick 6, lock that in.
If Carlton do the deal for Cerra then Pick 6 will go to the Dockers along with their own 8. They will have two names on their short list (if they don't trade one of them for a ready made mid to replace Cerra) being the best mid Erasmus and the best KPF Amiss.I really want Amiss but from what I've read so far that would be a reach. Probably the 10-20 mark is more likely.
Bazzo had a great game Sat WA v SA U19 Champs and his stocks will have risen.I think gun mid, 2 of the WA talls and a small forward or another mid would be an excellent result from first 4 picks.
