That's how bad he was, I overrated him and thought he was pick 6 but he was pick 12.Lennon wasn't pick 6.
Yes but we really want 3 inside 20.Trading Up ?????? Don't we already have 4 picks inside 30 ???
Yes the U19 Championships (usually played mid year as U18) begin later this month. Vic Metro, Vic Country, WA, SA and the Allies taking part. These games are what everyone has been waiting for to really get a solid idea of who the best players are.So, I don't watch the draftees at all but like to follow those who do to get a feel for likely draft range.
My question is: are there any matches coming up for them that are likely to see the general consensus change much?
I have no idea what matches are being played but assume state vs state matches probably haven't and won't happen?

Wanting and getting are two completely different scenariosYes but we really want 3 inside 20.

Do you know if they are likely to be televised?Yes the U19 Championships (usually played mid year as U18) begin later this month. Vic Metro, Vic Country, WA, SA and the Allies taking part. These games are what everyone has been waiting for to really get a solid idea of who the best players are.
I believe Fox are televising them and also Kayo mate. Have fun.Do you know if they are likely to be televised?
Yep, thats why it's called trading UP lolWanting and getting are two completely different scenarios![]()
This is the kid I want , a natural ball winner.Good to see Mathew Roberts back from his ankle injury picking up 20p first up in the SANFL seniors. Clearance specialist.

Twomey's Draft Team of the Year: Falcons ball-magnet, SA mid among three changes
Check out draft guru Cal Twomey's updated Draft Team of the Yearwww.afl.com.au
At pick #7 you may just get a Erasmus / Gibcus / Hobbs slide but most likely gone at #10So, without trading it out, our first pick should be between 7 and 10. Looks to me like there’s not much difference between those, with quality dropping a bit after pick 10.

That's good because we want GibcusIgnoring Daicos & Darcy.
I expect Horne #1,
Callahan, Hobbs, Erasmus 2,3,4.
then: Roberts, Ward, Rachele, Gibcus, Sinn, Goater all 5-10 in any order.
But yes, will be more choice if we lose and Saints win this round and we end up with pick 7 rather than 10.
But if we win and end up with pick 10 - then at least one of the names I've mentioned will be available.
Gibcus wont last past pick #10 most likely first live 5 picksDepending on how the Saints go, we now have pick 7 or 8.
Top 4 ( and Daicos/ Darcy) I expect to all be midfielders - too good for any to pass.
Then Hawthorn, Carlton, maybe St Kilda to pick. They should go midfielders since their second picks are a fair way down the line.
Maybe we will go Gibcus?
Our next pick at ~16 should get a decent midfielder.
Brisbane have picks 13 & 17, so would probably think the same way, meaning 13 is about as late as Gibcus would go if we don't pick him.
yeah we have pick 10 technicallyIf we lose and finish 11/12, draft pick will be 7/8 pushed back to 9/10?
Things will become a lot clearer once the National U19 Championships have been completed.looked at some of the draft experts phantom drafts and their all very different from each other
Both the Dogs and Pies will jump in front of us to have their father son selections for Daicos and Darcy. It’d end up being 9/10 depending on the Saints result tomorrow.Depending on how the Saints go, we now have pick 7 or 8.
I can completely respect the logic around this mate. You’re totally right, we’re not going to be able to get either Darcy or Daicos as they’ll be taken under the father son selection.I really dont get this line of thinking where our pick will slide due to father son stuff
Daicos & Darcey are not available so just forget their names as their club wont pass them
We will get the 7th / 8th best player available - simple
I realize and accept they will have to be included in the mock drafts and rankings , My comment was more direct to people who say " But our pick will go down 2 spots and are infact devaluing the pick"I can completely respect the logic around this mate. You’re totally right, we’re not going to be able to get either Darcy or Daicos as they’ll be taken under the father son selection.
However, the fact of the matter is they’re both still players entering the draft. The two of them are included in every big board, power ranking and mock draft so when trying to look at the different options we may have, I personally want to look at the players who are realistically there so to me it’s only logical to call the draft picks at the number they’ll be taken in there draft.
There’s plenty of other father son and academy selections that are already looking bailed on for the draft. Whilst they may not be as hyped up as Daicos and Darcy these other picks will impact the placement of our other picks. I’m not going to take all those players our of the draft and try adjusting our other picks to not include these players so I’m not going to do it with our first picks.
You’re of course most welcome to do whatever you want, we all have our own ways of thinking through things. I completely see where you’re coming from, I just wanted to justify why it’s done in that way and justify the way it’s normally thought.
