Apologies for any inconvenience. We will try to find a replacement.
I respect their knowledge. But I'd say that in drafting you are looking 5 years in advance. And then for us I reckon you are looking at midfielders early. Especially if they are inside and outside transition types.
We're OK for rucks for years. We've got 3 young KPDs, so replacing Astbury this draft isn't such a need. Replacing JR is a need over the next few years.
And yes, I suspect we are trying to trade into another first/early 20s, and maybe into 2022.
Sounds like someone we would be all overNot as dynamic as the ones rated above him, but a type that recruiters get too fancy about usually and think he's at his peak. I really like him, Dimma likes blokes that can come in and impact straight away and he's a type that can. He also has two traits we love, he can run and he has good skills.
yeah , Roberts is rubbish (am I doing it right?) ...Roberts certainly isn't an athletic beast so I wouldn't be surprised if he drops down the rankings a bit.
No, I wouldn't trade out pick 7.If Freo can keep 6 & 8 they are taking Erasmas & Amiss they aren’t going to risk missing those guys to trade either pick back.
How many points a pick is worth means nothing to clubs without a player to match. It’s why the Dogs are the only club that may trade back their 1st for points (Pies don’t have picks to trade back).
Would you trade back 7 for 28 + 40 + 44?

yeah not sure I agreed with the characterisation of Nank. He’s super important to the way we play and it’d hard to see him not being #1 for a few years yet
Was going to say that I am looking forward to watching the second half of the WA vs SA game because there is so much Van Rooyen talk whereas I preferred the look of Bazzo. Then these other posts popped up straight after.Erasmus/Van Rooyen double will do me
Bazzo voted BOG in the WA vs SA game
So I’m not imagining things: he is a good prospectHopefully he will be available at our 2nd round picks. He has slid down the rankings because of injuries this season.
I reckon the Soldo-Nank combo is one of the best in the league (please come back as good as before Ivan). So yeah, it seems a little like they really didn't know our list and somehow assumed our rucks are older, which they are not. And replacing Dave, well we've been doing that for the last few years already. Just hoping Miller steps up. Balta is already damn good.
But as an amateur draft watcher it must be hard to actually know about each team's list in any sort of depth. Unlike the professional media types who just don't have a clue, and it shows.
He's a good player tho.Roberts certainly isn't an athletic beast so I wouldn't be surprised if he drops down the rankings a bit.
Geez he looks and moves like Mathew Knights. If he's half as good...Roberts sounds very promising
Got to agree. What you see is what you get. One paced but just a diesel engine that keeps winning the ball and directing traffic. If we got him and Mathew Johnson who is tall and creative and precise they would compliment us and add some variety imo. You can't beat ball winning mids. Not as dynamic as the ones rated above him, but a type that recruiters get too fancy about usually and think he's at his peak. From the one game I've seen him play he looks like a real tough nut tooNot as dynamic as the ones rated above him, but a type that recruiters get too fancy about usually and think he's at his peak. Dimma’s and I’d imagine our recruiters main want is for “transition mids”, like Dion. They’ve said it a number of times and hard to argue against. A mid that runs both ways all day is invaluable. It’s why our wings are Macca and Marlion, who both aren’t the best kicks in the side but run all day and are tough as.Not as dynamic as the ones rated above him, but a type that recruiters get too fancy about usually and think he's at his peak. honestly this draft appears to be so all over the shop, if there's someone we like who likely won't be there at our next pick I don't think anyone's a reachWould Roberts be too big a reach at our first? Probably wouldn’t be there at our Geelong first rounder
The way Roberts reads, seems he’s as well credentialed as anyone outside that obvious top 3 anywayhonestly this draft appears to be so all over the shop, if there's someone we like who likely won't be there at our next pick I don't think anyone's a reach
Would Roberts be too big a reach at our first? Probably wouldn’t be there at our Geelong first rounder
At Pick 7 (or 9 after Daicos and Darcy) we will have a chance to get an elite AFL player. Under no circumstances do we give that pick up unless it's to trade for an earlier pick which I just cannot see happening.
I would rank this draft so even that at 7, we could get the best player in the draft. We need elite players to replace our aging stars, in particular the Cotchin's, Edwards ect.
A couple of names I have heard that an opposition recruiting team believe we have strong interest in are Matthew Roberts and Dan Butlers brother, Sam Butler.
If Freo end up with both picks 6 & 8 we could live trade our pick 7 to West Coast for their pick 10 + future second?Would Roberts be too big a reach at our first? Probably wouldn’t be there at our Geelong first rounder
If we get Roberts I hope like hell they give him the nickname ReltonWould Roberts be too big a reach at our first? Probably wouldn’t be there at our Geelong first rounder
Ahhhh Relton what might have been...If we get Roberts I hope like hell they give him the nickname Relton

From what you know of the drafting game, what correlation is there between teams who interview prospects a number of times (4+) opposed to a couple times.
As for Roberts, in my limited viewings of him I get Dom Sheed type vibes.
Josh Rachele is arguably the best kick in the draft from what I've read.Someone with elite footskills would be handy.
Caleb Daniel won the game for the dogs with his foot.
Or “The Whale”If we get Roberts I hope like hell they give him the nickname Relton
