We'd be mad to overlook significant list need to bring in young top line onballers in a draft where they're significantly stronger than the talls. With the possibility of both CCJ and Chol walking we may have to have a look at a Mac Andrew or Amiss
I agree it leaves us very short on forward/ruck types obviously so I think we'd have a draft strategy of going for best available with pick 7 (probably a midfielder) and then a tall forward/ruck like Mac Andrew with our secondWith the possibility of both CCJ and Chol walking we may have to have a look at a Mac Andrew or Amiss
You did use the words 'like Mac Andrew'. Did you mean another player similar to him? Because it seems most have him going well before he gets to our 2nd pick. Assuming he does and we've gone with a mid with our 1st, who's the tall we can get with or 2nd (with Amiss also likely gone too). I assume the list management team would be crossing their fingers one gets through, but if both CCJ and Chol go, crossing the fingers will be not an option.I agree it leaves us very short on forward/ruck types obviously so I think we'd have a draft strategy of going for best available with pick 7 (probably a midfielder) and then a tall forward/ruck like Mac Andrew with our second
I reckon he could slide but not sure he'd get through to us still - but you never know. By the sounds of it he's pretty raw and probably wouldn't be ready for a couple of seasons anyway but upside looks enormous. Yes. You're right. Is the type to slide. BUT upside enormous and will be much better than CCJ and Chol is a safe bet imo. Would mean Ryan and Biggie need to be developed fast, and if we could get 2/3 to become regulars, that would be a great result.I reckon he could slide but not sure he'd get through to us still - but you never know. I’m a no for Mac
I want a midfielder
Yep, a good midfield is essential but I’ll add that I think a good defence is just as importantmidfielders are our need. Take this opportunity to build a midfield this year and we can be good for 10 more years

What's "medium"? Cumberland looked pretty good there in a few of the latter VFL games.Who are the best medium-sized forwards? I feel like that’s an area that we’re really lacking in and have been for some time. I wonder if there are any agile medium/tall forwards worth drafting with our first or second rounders
Well I guess I meant more like a ~190cm forward that isn’t ruck height. I feel like our main young forwards are either ruck height or on the shorter end. What's "medium"? Cumberland looked pretty good there in a few of the latter VFL games.

Only one really is Hugo Ralphsmith, who is 188cm apparently, but I believe that we play him more as a midfielder than a forward
Blake Howes is one.Who are the best medium-sized forwards? I feel like that’s an area that we’re really lacking in and have been for some time. I wonder if there are any agile medium/tall forwards worth drafting with our first or second rounders
I just looked him up and yes, someone like him would be good. Apparently he’s one of the better athletes available and has a good aerial game, two attributes that would fit our needs in the forward lineBlake Howes is one.
I like him too, Bobby. But we need mids. Maybe if the top tier are gone and we think we can get one just as good at 15, then Rachele or Andrew might come into calculations.Medium forward? Josh Rochele is the best. Some may class him as a small forward but he’s so good above his head you can rank him either way. Absolute future star. Watching clips on him today, he’s firming as one to get at pick 7.
