List Mgmt. 2021 draft pool.

With live trading, if there is only one player other than Horne, Daicos and Darcy that we want with pick 3(pushed back to 5), then we have a trade with Gold Coast lined up if that player is available.

If they get an offer for pick 3 from another team before the draft and ask us to better it, then we walk away.

Here's a rundown of our Drafting of KPF's:

Year Pick Player
2017: 20 Callum Coleman- jones (Ruck/Forward)
2014: 77 Reece McKenzie
2012: 33 Liam McBean
2011: 26 Todd Elton
2009: 19 Ben Griffiths
2009: 25 Dave astbury
2008: 8 Ty Vickery
2006: 13 Jack Riewoldt
2005: 24 Cleve Hughes
2004: 16 Adam pattison (Ruck/Forward)
2002: 12 Jay Schulz
1997: 2 Brad Ottens (was drafted as a ruckman)
1996: 6 (PRE_SEASON DRAFT) Birdman Brett Evans

Clearly we've been stingy as f@%k when it comes to using quality picks on KPF's. I'm tired of watching us draft small forwards and mids with our first pick. I still remember Solariums Wallace telling shifter Sheahan hopefully Tom Lynch is around for Richmonds first pick and lo and behold he was and we took Reece bloody Conca!!!! Corey Ellis, Ben Lennon, Daniel Roli, Jack Higgins the list goes on and on. We still have bundles of midfield kids like Dow, Ross, RCD, Martin, Cumberland who've barely had a crack at the seniors so we've got depth galore. Our KPF stocks are old man Riewoldt (33 yo), Tom Lynch (29yo) and maybe Samson Ryan (mind you he was drafted as a ruckman from the lions academy they passed on him and the frightening thing is he was almost 20 when we drafted him so not exactly a 17 yo who needs time to grow into his body he's now almost 21 so needs to be judged accordingly. Hey he was a project player and good luck to him if he actually plays 20-30 games as i can't see him being a 200 game player who kicks 500+ goals). Basically we have 2 old injury prone KPF's and no backup. Screw chancing the first pick on a midfielder when it's an even draft and most haven't played and won't get to be tested at a combine.

JYE AMISS 195cm 51 goals 14 behinds..... Now get him and he can replace Riewoldt and play with Lynch until it's time to replace Lynch. This draft is critical as ever for the Tiges... get it wrong and we're back to the bottom of the ladder whilst spending a fortune on Dusty and Lynch. Get it right and i reckon we can be a bloody good chance to win next 2 flags. using our first pick on a midfielder won't achieve much as we've already got plenty of young mids in the wings. If things go bad injury wise our forward line could end up FF Cumberland/ Nankervis. CHF Samson Ryan????? We need Jye Amiss who cares if he's rated at pick 10 he definitely won't be around at our second pick and screw trading for GC's pick 5 it won't be worth it. God looking at that list to think in 25 years we've only used one top 10 pick on a KPF and it ended up being bloody Ty Vickery. Time to invest in a long term KPF. As the above list shows... you get what ya pay for.... This is where Allan Jeans's shoe analogy comes in.....

Pick 3 will be pick 5 after the bids on Daicos and Darcy, Norf looks set to take Horne-Francis with pick 1, GWS with pick 2 could take Callaghan or Ward leaving GCS with pick 3 to take the one that GWS don't pick ie; Callaghan or Ward.
I'm sure that deals will want to be done with GCS and as you said it's important to not overpay.

Stop smoking cones if it gives you paranoia..... They could just be a Tigers fan starved of Footy like the rest of us. Maybe they're smarter than us and after reading a couple hundred repetitive nonsensical comments about : how salty is he..... Blah blah blah has a micropenis.... Castagna is good..... Umpires hate us.... Blah Blahs a campaigner..... He went to Melbourne Uni ya know...... and only stumbled on occasional post that actually was factual and interesting. I'm actually more sus on those with 50,000 comments.

I don’t post much because as you can see from my post I’m just stating the obvious and not adding much value here. I usually just read other people’s posts and see what they’re saying about who the club could be targeting in the draft or trade period. I used to have another account on here years ago but it was using my old email and I couldn’t access it.

I’ll just refrain from posting haha 👍

Watching this SANFL game thinking Horne-Francis has a slightly awkward kicking style. But then the more I've seen of him, the more I'm seeing a bit of Ben Cousins in the kicking action.

you can do what you like, does not bother me either way.

What annoys me though is when other clubs posters create fake Richmond ones and comment using them to push a agenda against our club, usually around trade time, to try and change a narrative and try an influence a decision within their ego's perspective

That’s fair enough. Well I’m definitely a Richmond fan. I don’t know how I can prove that, but I think if you saw my other posts you would see that I don’t have an agenda.

Don't worry about it - it was a good post. Some people on here can be a little prone to wild conspiracies.

In my view we have to pick up a premium midfielder in this draft end of story. We don't need anymore average grunt players we need inside or outside class. So I think trading up to pick 3 is a must. As long as we don't completely sell the farm and can keep an early 2nd round pick in the process. A simple swap of picks that works for both clubs Then trade up again with later picks.

If we were to upgrade to pick 2 or 3 we could agree not to not pick Darcy reducing the need for 1700 points
We could make that commitment, however even with Pick 3 it probably wouldn't be up to us to make a bid on Darcy.
It will all come down to North & GWS, North could bid on both and then have their #1 pick get pushed down all the way to Pick 3

You don't have to prove anything just carry on.

The thing is newbies or profiles with little posts that pop up around trade time can be seen as red flags simply because of others have been proven to be carrying on skulduggery against the interests of Richmond or Richmond posters in the past whether they are actually effective or not.

Its not a personal thing its just the history of practices that have occurred online in the past picked up by those longer in the game

And even if you were a covert oppo supporter, pushing an agenda that's not in the interests of the club - and it may shock you to hear this - it actually doesn't matter because the club isn't run via a BigFooty committee! [emoji23]

After all these years I'm still not sure if Mr Magic is for real. One way or the other, he's special, that's for sure!
