It doesn't seem we went too hard for dogs pick 17 and my guess is we are likely to do a pick swap with North and needing some of these later picks to do a deal, for example, CJ, pick 28 and 47 for Tarrant, pick 20 and 40 and (maybe a future pick).
Once that deal gets done we can access our picks and look to do some deals if they present.

Our draft hand would look something like this, 7, 15, 20, 26, 38, 40

I'd be amazed if they could pull that off. Look at it from a North Melbourne perspective. We've nicked Robbie Tarrant from them, but our Chol compensation pick will slide from 38 to 50ish (or worse) if we take him as a free agent. There is nothing to stop North simply saying we want CCJ + 38 for Tarrant + 40 (or something worse). Our next best alternative is to lose CCJ is the PSD for nothing and our pick 38 drops back to 50ish when we take Tarrant as free agent. We're better off doing the (shit) deal than doing nothing.

Any deal we think is fair is North Melbourne not exploiting the situation. We'd owe them big time.

Go and watch Knevitt in the Falcons v Pioneers game. You’ll change you mind.
He’s quick, reads the play, great size, great overhead and most importantly gets the ball. A high possession player who just keeps improving. I’d be rapt to get him.

He is also very capable up forward.

it definitely changes things as they'll be looking for home grown talent. Dont think they'd risk drafting Hobbs, Ward, Rachele or Gibcus with their first when theres plenty of WA talent thereabouts - they'll also be looking at Amiss and Johnson. If we're looking at Hobbs or Ward we're now one step closer.

Exactly - its clearly a deliberate strategy with so many top 25 WA picks this year.

Nope he was on Geelongs list and was very unlucky to be delisted under circumstances where he would probably have been kept in normal circumstances.
Having been on a list and delisted makes him an automatic F/A just like Chol.

Freo’s picks now worry me as they have picks before us;

They’ll lose either 19 or 22 to the Cats for that guy I can’t remember the name of . Still a good hand though.

not too sure thats correct

it might be that he is only a DFA the year after he has been delisted and after that will need to enter the draft

Bazzo is the West Australian I want at Richmond. Tarrant isnt long term Grimes will be 32 33 in 2 years. We need to draft a defender this year to give enough development time too.
