The only similarity is they're tall, right-footed mids. RCD is bash and crash, feed out the handball. Johnson is an inside/out type who can win his own ball, step through traffic and hit someone lace-out. Classier. More like a right-footed Pendles in type.

So he should be avoided? Like RCD... a hack. He'd want to be a lot better than RCD.

To be clear, I really like RCD, but understand he's being held back by his lack of a tank.

From the YouTube vision of Johnson it reminded me of the way RCD can play. Win it at the coalface and distribute well, with the ability to burst through, and out, of traffic.

If RCD can build his running endurance I have no doubt he'll be a solid AFL player. I'd be more than happy with another player with those attributes, especially if he's got a better endurance base.

I dream of two top 10 picks where we take the best mid early and then this kid. Imagine him, Shai and Dusty terrorising defenders over the next few years. We're in a rare position, three recent flags and a fat draft hand...this kid would be a luxury pick if it pans out.

Going to be really interesting after pick #10 - #15 this year with no games in 2021 and same in 2020 and now no combine for testing

A good recruitment team thats done their work last 2-3 years are going to be worth their weight in gold and some really good gems found later in the draft

I would not be disappointing if we actually used all our draft picks where they are this year unless we get crazy offer for them with future picks

Was interesting to see they had Hobbs, Ward & Rachele all making it to pick 6(8 after bids), with Erasmus/Johnson at 8(10).

Interesting times ahead.

Personally, I do think Hobbs will slide to our pick. If we take 5 picks this is my 5, a good blend of strong mids and a key forward and key back.

They are desperate for trades which generate content to go into the new year. If we started pick 7 and 15 in a block buster round one game nobody but us care and a large chuck of our fan base.

Starting Mitchel and Jager or Wingard with Tarrent would be huge. To them Tigers signing players and having another crack to beat the seemingly unbeatable Melbourne to a 4th flag would go down in history.

Rebuilding and phazing out the older players to compete again in the next 3 to 4 years is not interesting. Also if we fall of that also generates content for them as well

The anti Richmond narrative everyone one here thinks is old and just not true

Well, that's the question with this guy. He's a 180cm (same height as Hobbs) 'small forward' who also impacts in the midfield. He's also arguably the best kick in the draft. He could go anywhere from 5-15 imo.

God we keep overrating dead ordinary players. RCD just does not get enough possession. His lack of tank is an excuse. If he wasn’t an early pick, he’d be off the list.
