Depends on whether we rate Callghan high enough above Hobbs to give up a future pick or one of other picks this year.I can still see us trading up to pick 2 for Callaghan come draft night. If GWS are really that keen on Andrew, they can probably get him at 7.
1. Horne-Francis - North
2. Daicos - Collingwood - Bid matched
3. Darcy - Bulldogs - Bid matched
4. Callaghan - Richmond
5. Gibcus - Gold Coast
6. Hobbs - Adelaide
7. Ward - Hawthorn
8. Erasmus - Fremantle
9. Andrew - GWS
From what I've read, most seemingly think there are 9 kids in the top 2 tiers of the draft, which leaves us in a decent spot as we will have the 9th pick.
Tier 1: Horne-Francis, Daicos, Darcy, Callaghan
Tier 2: Ward, Hobbs, Gibcus, Erasmus, Andrew
Personally I'm not convinced if GWS hold onto pick 2 (pick 4 after bids) they will take Andrew over Callaghan. If they don't, I think there's a decent chance Andrew get to us at 9. If that does happen, do you take Andrew as the best available or do you take a mid if that's seen as more of a need? I reckon they probably take Andrew as a R/F, not as if tall forwards aren't a need either.
For every Watts, Patton, Boyd there's a Nick Riewoldt, Weitering, Kreuzer. Of course draft pics are chosen for need, not as a general rule but when needed.
I wanted Balta, we got Bolton. I think I would have preferred to miss out on Bolton that Balta (different drafts but hypothetically) because good talls you build premierships around as a general rule. Great midfielders also, but they are generally the top 2 or 3 picked.
If you could guarantee one of Hobbs/Ward will last to our pick I'd agree with you. I think it's fairly likely both will be gone.Depends on whether we rate Callghan high enough above Hobbs to give up a future pick or one of other picks this year.
I’m not sure the difference between Hobbs and Callghan is a big enough gap to justify a trade.

If that's the case would you prefer a Callaghan/Hobbs or Erasmus plus JVR?If you could guarantee one of Hobbs/Ward will last to our pick I'd agree with you. I think it's fairly likely both will be gone.
Johnson looks like a key forward to me. Same height as Jack, 194-5cm, his cousin and a whole lot of key forwards.
Getting my players mixed up.18. Matthew Johnson (Subiaco/Western Australia)
Midfielder, 190cm, 78kg
The tall, balanced midfielder capped off an impressive bottom-age season with a standout WAFL Colts Grand Final. And Johnson’s rise continued in 2021, with the skilful right-footer making his senior debut in May, a week after a solid showing in the AFL Academy side’s loss to Geelong’s reserves. Johnson, who was WA’s best in the second U19 Challenge game in September, is tough, clean, clever in traffic, good in the air and looks to have plenty of upside
Dan says: Very impressed with his finish to the season, including two stellar U19s Championships matches. A classy addition to any on-ball brigade.
Jordan says: Could prove a very good get in the teens come draft night given his size, class, scope for improvement and skill.

This is why I can't see us taking Schenslog. How many is too many ?Amiss is very one dimensional. I don't quite see it as in a very early pick.
Bazzo would be a good defender to have developing, but I seem to be the only one around here who rates Miller and Biggy very highly. How many is too many on a list?
Depends on what is around at 26, 27 and 28. We have options. (I think we get 27 from Collingwood)
I sort of like the look of Gibcus at 7 if the those three mids are off the table. Seems to be the prototypical intercept defender.Matthew Johnson for me at 7 (9) if Ward, Callahan or Hobbs are gone.
Classy this kid. Tall and rangey with nice skills.18. Matthew Johnson (Subiaco/Western Australia)

Although id love to see more footage of Erasmus
Thoughts on the second rounders?Gibcus would be a very good selection too. I am thinking a combo of Callahan/Ward/Hobbs/Johnson (I think Freo take Erasmus no matter what) and JvR with our first two picks would be sensation. A long term midfielder and a KPP would set us up for the rest of the draft.
Looks pretty spot on.
Jack Darling / Oscar Allen were talked down prior to their drafts and JVR looks to be as wellJvR in my opinion is a forward and in my opinion, the best in this class. Think he will develop into a beast.
I would love him at 15.
ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVan Rooyen is a ripper name too
Semantics. We get our man (Hobbs).Except Freo have the pick before West Coast and GWS before Gold Coast
We attempted to get #4 from the Crows early in trade period so we must either be after Callaghan or WardDepends on whether we rate Callghan high enough above Hobbs to give up a future pick or one of other picks this year.

**** I hope our fans don't do that shit lolROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
We will certainly have 1 of Hobbs / Rachale / Ward / Erasmus available at our pick #7 most likely Hobbs/RachaleIf you could guarantee one of Hobbs/Ward will last to our pick I'd agree with you. I think it's fairly likely both will be gone.
Semantics. We get our man (Hobbs).
Im a fan as well. hoping we could get him with our 2nd pick. Looks unlikely but if ward and hobbs are gone id go with johnson.Matthew Johnson for me at 7 (9) if Ward, Callahan or Hobbs are gone.
FMD I hope we don’t take a 186cm defender, last type we need right now.View attachment 1259922

eDPS has done a mock draft with us taking 5 picks. Roberts & Long going either side of our 5th pick.
I'd hope we go Erasmus over Hobbs if panned this way but overall looks pretty good for us.
