Thank God you are not doing our trading! Pretty well 3 firsts for one unproven kid, laughable
you probz lauged at swans wanting to trading almost the same thing last time we had pick three in a draft. "Unproven" in what sense of the word ? Darcy, Daicos, Horne in the same stuiped statment are "unproven" so why did we try and trade for pick one on uNpRoVeN kids... your a straight clown dude

FMD I hope we don’t take a 186cm defender, last type we need right now.
Agree, we need KPF and JVR was still available, he might have gone best available at that pick but with 2 x 1st rounders I think we have the opportunity of nabbing a good one that fills a need at our 2nd pick. He did have us picking up Williams with our 4th pick though.

Better than others who have us taking Mac Andrew with our 1st

The draft isn't about next year guys.

In the next few years Cotchin, Edwards, Grimes, Tarrant, Riewoldt will all fall off our list. It is about replacing them for the next ten or so years (hopefully depending on talent) and being competitive again.

If the recruiters like Amiss at 7 because Callahan, Ward and Hobbs are gone, so be it. I personally wouldn't but I do trust our guys at understanding talent.
Well said Bob, this draft, and next years, have the potential to set up our next era. Restock the cupboard in terms of our KPP stocks, get some more quality midfield talent in and we're on our way.

FWIW I'd love to nab 9. Hobbs(inside mid) 17. Van Rooyen(KPF) 26. Sinn or Cheesser(outside midfielder) and 28. Williams (KPF) with our first 4 picks.

Gold Coast are keen on Gibcus, GWS will go for Andrew is my best guess right now pre trades. I think Gold Coast will be very interested in trading down from pick 2 to pick 7, I think Gibcus will still be available at 7. If we can trade with Gold Coast to get pick 3, I believe we will take Callghan, and crows will take Hobbs.
1.Horne-Francis- Kangaroos
2.Daicos- Collingwood
3.Darcy- Bulldogs
4.Gibcus- Gold Coast
5.Andrew- GWS
6.Callghan- Crows
7.Ward- Hawks
8.Erasmus- Freo
9.Hobbs- Tigers.
10.Johnson - West Coast
That makes sense actually.
Draft swap next yr.
Our 3rd for their 4th as a scratch your back type of deal.

Losing Cj & Chol in the same year

Surely we must take 1 KPF in the first 3 picks

#15 - JVr (Roooooo) :p tigs2010
I want us to pick him and yet you still make me angry react to your post.

You do realise that the 'offer' we made was nothing more than shits and giggles, knowing full well North were as likely to take that deal as we were to take a future 3rd for CCJ & future 4th

Depends on who is available. Sam Butler, Roberts if there, Darcy Willmott, Zac Taylor and Blake Howes all would be nice. There’s a lot of options though.

Some seem to think Roberts might get to the twenties, even later some project. Not a bad option for us being a left footer and we have none and plays inside where we need a boost.

Looks a bit vanilla but a value play for us and nice fit for our list possibly

What’s the go with Sinn? Who does he play like

And its Sam Butler and upgrade on Butler v1.0?
Just from reading reports.. Sinn HB line breaking left footer.- the article I saw - like Crisp

Butler better midfielder (ie more of an all rounder than Dan ... Not as fast perhaps, but elite skills). Not sure he'll be available at our two late 20 picks.. a reach at 15 with better available maybe.

This Mitchito Owens, one of the Saints NGA, if goes past 20 is an interesting one. Just reading an article he seems a bit like Tom Lynch in terms of a late spurter in height.

In 2021 at the start listed at 190cm as a 17 year old but at the start of 2019 he was 15 cm shorter and played as a small forward apparently

If we bid on Owens at 15 which would be 17, Saints could not match and that would force them to try and get back into the twenties although they would be trying to bid on their other NGA. Payback for Higgins, ha ha

Cant see us taking Sinn then. It’s nice to have a lefty off half back but I don’t see either one of Rioli or Short not playing that role going forward
