I would not be disappointed t all if we called out Gibcus name with pick #9Hasn’t been a lot of talk about Gibcus but speaking to a coach today at work from down that way, he spoke to me about how great of an athlete Josh is. He’s tall and has been able to jump out of the building since he was 13-14 dunking in bball etc etc
he also said he was a ruck/forward before moving to the rebels (or the Nab league team he plays for) where they turned him into a tall defender. So similar to Naughton who’s been turned from a defender into a forward at AFL level, I reckon Gibcus has that capability if we got him. He’s flexible and could even ruck one day if he grows a couple of more cms (197 already).
Alternative to the other names we’re excited about anyway! We’re going to get a beauty with our first pick

Reckon they would ask for 15 and 28 for their 9 and future 3rd.I don’t believe we will use picks 38 & 40. I think we’ll try and package those two with pick 28 to get as high as possible.
28-38-40 has roughly enough points for pick 8.
If St Kilda are chasing points then a deal for pick 9 is not out of the question.
7,9,15,26 would be an unbelievable draft hand for a team that won the premiership 24 months beforehand.
Saint Kilda do need points somewhere to match two academy kids - roughly mid 20s and mid 30s are where they are rated - but likely to slide 10 picks each I guess.I don’t believe we will use picks 38 & 40. I think we’ll try and package those two with pick 28 to get as high as possible.

Hmmmm would be an interesting own thread this...Premiership Windows 'opening and closing' for AFL Teams...I look at a guy like Cerra.
To me we may have dodged a bullet.
He will be a handy player but, for me he seems a bit inbetween, more outside than inside not a real match-up dynamo, and cost a bit in terms of salary and picks. We could have got him but I think in the draft we can get better at better value that helps our list get better in the future helping us win more premierships.
I was looking at Trading Day on Foxtel when King and Montagna where talking about windows for each club. They said (or King)some like Saints have no window, I think they said Freo in no-mans land.
I think team like Carlton may also be in no-mans land to and they are overrating the window opening for the Bulldogs as well as Port Adelaide. Can't remember what they said about Brisbane but I think they said it might not be as long as others
Yeah a winger...speed to burn!Sinn was rated 5-10 in the draft before he got injured. He is a jet, would be a great get at pick 15.
Wins the ball and runs, could easily be an A grade half back or winger. We lacked outside speed last season, especially on the wing.

But the Tigers won the premiership less than 12 months ago
Ha ha fair enough pal. Lost track of time the last few months to be honest. It's funny how people forget and this is not a shot at you.

I think he's underestimated. He's got Xfactor.
unfortunately Sinn will most likely be gone by our second pick. I watched him play a school game. The kid is lightning fast. Takes the game on, just runs and runs. He is a 100 metre player. runs 50-60 metres and has a great 50 metre left foot that hits targets. He also plays midfield but did not get the opportunity this year due to injury and then Covid.Sinn was rated 5-10 in the draft before he got injured. He is a jet, would be a great get at pick 15.

Absolutely live for the final siren to be blown on trade period so we can move our attention across to this thread, which somehow houses even more random posts.
We need to cross every phalange and hope Josh Ward slides to add another Brownlow Medallist to the list, absolute gem of a player. Even if our draft hand ends up staying as it is, I have such excitement for some really strong talent that even stretches to the start of the third round, we should be super pumped.

100% this.Wards ability to play multiple positions while he grows into a full time afl midfielder with his inside, outside game, clean hands,a matty knights left foot,2 way running and ability to kick a goal. Add leadership qualities and just enough speed, athleticism and ability to find time and space make him the total package as a midfielder some my say vanilla but you don't always need tatts and a mowhawk to be a star.Except Freo have the pick before West Coast and GWS before Gold Coast
I am not sure on Hobbs.
He can play, don't get me wrong, and that is obvious, others think he may slide regarding athletic traits. I looked at his four minute highlights and saw no use of the left foot. The other thing is he looks inside mainly, not sure where else he would play. If we got him we would have Graham, Hobbs and Prestia that are mainly inside mids and not really a lot of anything else. Thats a bit of a problem I think. If I had to choose between Johnson and Hobbs, I would pick Johnson because of his versatility, I would pick Ward ahead of both probably.
If Hobbs gets to our pick 15 I would pick him for sure.
Some think Saints might offer up pick 9. I would be in that if the case
.... I thought you'd never ask [emoji12].Roksman your thoughts on Leak Allear?
Whats better than one Nank.View attachment 1259922

eDPS has done a mock draft with us taking 5 picks. Roberts & Long going either side of our 5th pick.
I'd hope we go Erasmus over Hobbs if panned this way but overall looks pretty good for us.
So... If we got him we wouldn't.. Leek as many goals as we have been?.... I thought you'd never ask [emoji12].
I just think he possesses clear AFL attributes to impact almost immediately - he is 20 years old so he's considered a mature age draftee.
Not racially profiling but we saw the impact of Aliir Aliir for Port and they share very similar physical attributes and both play in defence.
Intercept marking is a key metric for AFL teams and something Dimma always references in press conferences (MOP's).
The reason why I'm very keen on him is because no one else in the draft pool possesses his physical attributes as a defender - Gibcus may play like him but he might be a couple years off AFL readiness.
I think a team will pounce early for Leek Alleer as there's plenty of mids that if you miss out on between picks 15-30, there's similar players to select... But you'll only get one chance at a player like Alleer from 15 onwards, given that, I have a feeling a club like Sydney will go early on him with pick 16 (which will be 18 on the night).
I just think our defence will be the best in the league if we added him also.
Yeah im coming around to it. Especially if the top tier mids we are after are gone. Gibcus at 7(9) then a mid at 15(17)I would not be disappointed t all if we called out Gibcus name with pick #9
I'd put them to the test.Reckon they would ask for 15 and 28 for their 9 and future 3rd.
A lot more when our top notch assistant coaches left.I wanna agree with this but I struggle to completely.
Can’t dispute our recent success but I’m sick of seeing Caddy wing (he’s a forward), Ross a slimmed down half back (he’s an inside mid), Rioli a flair lacking space guarder, Dusty sitting forward when we can’t win the ball, etc. Dimma does some weird sh*t sometimes.
It's funny how people forget and this is not a shot at you.

Was just thinking this yesterday. Especially if we keep 38.Draft watchers, tell me more about Sheldrick. Sounds like a type that would suit us with a later pick.

5 foot 10 inch...not exactly a big bull clearance mid...looks like it's fully grown at 17yo...man-child...Draft watchers, tell me more about Sheldrick. Sounds like a type that would suit us with a later pick.

Yeah, I gathered "low upside". But as an immediate impact ball winner, sounds like you could do a lot worse. I picture something like a Jack Graham/Dion Prestia type.5 foot 10 inch...not exactly a big bull clearance mid...looks like it's fully grown at 17yo...man-child...
