Lost me at a two way runner...
Why?
But what if his high is only James Worpel level ?
He is / Looks like a physically mature player at 183cm 83kgs and it could be very similar situation to worpel where whilst is floor is not as low his roof may just not b as high.
What if he's Joel Selwood? What if he's Travis Boak? Both those guys are fairly slow but have the ball on a string and are competitive beasts and similar size.

Worpel wasn't rated anywhere near the top 5 or 10 at draft time and went in the 3rd round.

So pretty much neither Pies or Dogs are likely to look at adding more picks, regardless of "more points".

So no point suggesting 38 & 40 for 27, or whatever it might be. They're far more likely to look to trade out extra draft picks this year into next year's draft? Provided they still retain sufficient points for this year?

No club is going to be keen to see us get three first round pics or even more second rounders. We will be the last club anyone wants to trade with. That was evident these last two weeks.

Why was it evident? You can't blame a club for going somewhere else if they get a better deal. Still plenty of time left to trade picks.

I reckon sinn may be the cheat code to this draft

Can seriously run
It depends on his football skills (I haven't looked too much into the draftees other than an opinion here in this thread, so don't know what his skills are like).

In the early-mid 2000's there was a philosophy of picking athletes first and footballers second. It didn't turn out too well for clubs who went down this road. JON is an example of selecting someone based more on their athleticism over football skills.

It is better to pick someone with very good football skills and reasonable athleticism than it is to pick someone who is the top athlete but average football skills.

The thing scaring people off with Josh Sinn is the two month hamstring he did earlier this year. He is a terrific prospect but geez, a bad hammy when your'e only 18 doesn't auger well for a speedster. We all know how that can go.
All the way to pick 40?

There is a silver lining to this also

Just for arguments sake once all these picks get consumed up and taken out of the system you will find clubs like
Bulldogs , Collingwood , carlton , Port , St kilda wont have enough picks below 60's and will be looking for picks which we will have 2 in the 30's if we carry them through to the draft.

This would give us the opportunity to get value in 2022
That’s going to be what I’m looking forward to teams wanting to trade back into this mid section of the draft that seems to be pretty even after they have bid for academy players
Our picks that we hold will be like rolled gold for clubs trying to target specific players and will happily trade one to them if they are happy to pay slightly overs in 2022 picks

Draft watchers, tell me more about Sheldrick. Sounds like a type that would suit us with a later pick.

I saw 3 games with this kid and he was best on in all 3

Over the years we have seen so many players that show potential to be the next selwood that end up the next will brodie. Fact is Joel Selwood for all his flaws (ducking , whinging, cheating) is a bloody animal and so driven its just not funny. Very few players have that and we have been Lucky as trent is probably the best at driving himself and the team

Yes but what are ratings ??
Cal Twomey had
#3 - Paddy Dow
#4 - Darcey Fogarty
#10 -Ed Richards
#12-Aiden Boner
#14 -Lochie O'Brien

Ive got a sneaky suspicion we are going to nail a future top 5 AFL all time player with our very last pick. Its written in the heavens.
I have faith in our people in talent recognition and our list management to get the best deal and pick the best players at what ever pick we hold
I also have no issue with holding picks 26,28,38,40 as our people have proven to be able to pick gems
Balta (25) Bolton (29) Graham (53) Baker (rookie) Broad (50's) just to name a few.

Not seeing moving up from 28 to 23 such a big deal to be honest , Trade out our 38/40 into 2022 and just take 7-15-26-28 as they are if we cant get what we WANT

Which is also one of Hobbs' biggest assets. It also happens to not be strengths of alot of those guys you listed. A major weakness in a few of them even.

So DES.and Garth gone ...gives us 5 picks if we want in the ND
Egg was a rookie.
We have four live picks as it stands, which makes 38 and 40 useless.
Unless we demote two players like Cumberland and Biggy to the rookie list?
EDIT: I think our rookie list is full

Right calls on Egg and Garth, interesting to see why they delisted Biggy and Cumberland.

Leaves Parker, Stack, Miller and Pickett on our rookie list is that right?

"Richmond has also delisted yet-to-debut pair Noah Cumberland and Bigoa Nyuon, with the promise of re-selecting them in November’s rookie draft."

From the article on the Richmond website.

Isn’t our rookie list full. Weird

I think we have 1 extra rookie spot that we didn't use, and we just delisted DES. I assume that means 0 rookie picks that weren't already Richmond players (Cumbo / Biggie)
