Always have to give overs if you are the chasing a higher pick, plus if we finish top 4 (that's the plan right?), it will be a pick in the mid 40s.

If we finish Top 4 then the future pick we gave up should be somewhere in the early-mid 50s once FA compo & FS bids are made

If we have 26, 27 and 28 I could see St. Kilda enquiring about our 28 for a future 2nd with a 'gentleman's agreement' that we don't bid on one of their NGA's if they're still on the table. May not be a bad result

28 for a future 2nd isn't much chop as 28 is a fairly early 2nd round pick anyway. The only reason I'd want to do that is if all the players we rate are gone. Otherwise I'd want a better return than that.

Interesting from the Pies perspective, they now have to have 7 list spots open to take all of those picks to the draft which I assume they have to just in case a bid comes for Daicos at 1.

Means they'll have to delist 6 players in total, I'm not sure how many they've delisted so far but I'm sure they'll to do more.

Thank for that. So bringing in Krueger and Lipinski reduces that list to 6, means that they'll have to delist another player to cover the picks. My guess is Cox who I think is OOC.

No, if it wasn't for the 3rd rounder next year I bet we wouldn't be having this discussion but that 3rd will hopefully be 50+
The pies have done well to accrue points for Daicos but overall whose draft hand would you take?

Overall we have the best hand, unless we can get into the top 5 or picks 8 -12, then I reckon we will use all our 5 picks.
There is much talent in the Top 30 picks.

Why would we want to trade out pick #28 for a pick that is most likely going to be worse that 28 next year , Cant see the saints having a worse year than 2021. The only way they get 2 picks in the 20's is if they put their 1st this year or next on the table

St Kilda's 2022 2nd rounder 30-33 range imo is worth 2 picks 40+ this year

But I guess one of the assumptions is assuming we don't use them all and we make it public we are open for deals, that come draft night(s) when other clubs see what sliders are left on the table they might well overpay us. With three in a row, it's conceivable that a club or two might even see two players they really like.

With a bit of luck we'll get back what we gave Collingwood with interest.

It all comes down to how many picks we use next season. As we currently have the 3 picks in the first 2 rounds & whether we pick up another 1st or 2nd for next season. As we really need mids to bolster our list in the future with this years picks & next year they are saying it will be a KPP's draft.

There are a million things that could be factored in … but taking out Graham the average games played for 51-60 is 37.5….. 60 x players across 6 x drafts is a huge data set and large enough to at least make some general assumptions. My main conclusion is that pick 55 is as good/bad as pick 35.

Well done on the analysis and interesting conclusion.
Without doing any analysis my conclusion is the draft remains an educated raffle, the higher your pick the better chance of getting a better player, recruiters do analysis, form, interviews, tests to educate, but there’s still an element of luck.
Number of games played not really a measure of success. Would rather 100 great games from pick 30 than 150 ordinary games from pick 50.

Houli? don't think anyone thinks had he played on he would be the difference, rioli, short, stack etc can easily play that running half-back role.

Anyway, as stated I answered a question regarding the past, 2020 Richmond V 2021 Dees.

Some need to cool the jets on Melbourne, saying the next dynasty team who the heck knows, dogs won 2016 and were nowhere to be seen for 5 years.
The same with the Eagles post 2018. I was happy for the Dees after 57 years but let's see if they can back it up.
