Apologies for any inconvenience. We will try to find a replacement.
I think the best case scenario for us if to trade #7 + Future 1st for pick #2.... (Or #4 for #9, whichever way you want to view it).
Keeps our strong hand for this draft and we still have two 2nd round picks for next season.
Would GWS take it? Who knows but it's definitely in the ball park.
Let’s get 5 🗑 players, not develop them at all and then waste extreme amounts of money on half back flankers.Let’s get 5 ordinary players and give them a challenge.
GWS are absolutely laughing, what a bonus to get pick 2 from Collingwood and now they have three or four teams throwing themselves at them with even better deals to get it off them. Wouldn’t you love to be in their situation!!Good deal for gws ...

Collingwood the morons that keep on giving
Pies don't need Pick 2, just the points for Daicos who would go pick 1-3 anyway.
I'd rather know how far they have come in their final year at underage level compared to those this year who you can only go off from 2yrs ago really.Sure the kids in next years draft will likely play more games than this years crop, but that doesn't change the fact that they have also missed as many if not more games than the kids in this years draft over the last 2 years, given the focus would have been of getting any game time into this years draftees rather than giving bottom aged kids opportunity. So while recruiters will have more games in 2022 to take look at the kids, they won't have anything historically to compare it to in terms of how well a kid has developed from their U16 years.
Like everyone else.lolTwomey mentioned in a podcast a little while ago that they had interest in Hobbs, but have settled on Callaghan as the one they want.
I honestly can't see the Suns/Crows or Hawks taking a gamble on a project kid like Andrew.Too risky for them. They might be confident he lasts until (live) pick 7?
Or GWS and Suns could just take the kids they have rated at their respective picks. It's pretty simple at that end of the draft. If we can’t find a suitable trade that doesn’t pillage our draft assets to get to pick 2 for Callghan, I would not be upset going with Mac Andrew at pick 7.
Also the club would be laughing if Gibcus fell to pick 15.
Sounds like GWS want Andrew but don’t want him at pick 2. They are thinking Tigers will take him at pick 7, so they’ll work with most likely Freo to get pick 6, 19 and swap next years firsts. Freo will take Callghan at pick 2.
Leaves Gold Coast in a weird position. Pretty sure they would be looking for best player available, which at that stage will be a very difficult choice. In my opinion it’s Ward or Rachelle. I don’t think they will be interested in either. So they will like to trade down or even out. Accumulate more future picks, where tigers could jump in with pick 15 and a future 1st and draft Ward at 3.
Why’s that I don’t want us to take Andrews’s first pick , at 15 perhaps , we desperately need our next classy mid coming thru with pick 7I honestly can't see the Suns/Crows or Hawks taking a gamble on a project kid like Andrew.Too risky for them.
Hopefully for us Gws see it that way as well.

What are you basing how far they have come off given they've possibly played less games than this years draftees over the same period, given they didn't get to play their top aged U16 year, and played very little this year to give a base to go off.I'd rather know how far they have come in their final year at underage level compared to those this year who you can only go off from 2yrs ago really.
Not to mention as well is no combine testing this year either.
Talking about the swap with Gws.They get our pick 7.Why’s that I don’t want us to take Andrews’s first pick , at 15 perhaps , we desperately need our next classy mid coming thru with pick 7
I agree all these kids in this draft and next years had stuff all games over the past 2yrs.Mirror image. What are you basing how far they have come off given they've possibly played less games than this years draftees over the same period, given they didn't get to play their top aged U16 year, and played very little this year to give a base to go off.
Secondly there was a combine this year albeit is ran as state based combined
It all comes down to Gold Coast really. If GWS trades pick two to us and we take Callaghan, do Gold Coast then go tall and take the player GWS wants (most likely Andrew), or do they go for the next best mid in Hobbs? They might be confident he lasts until (live) pick 7?
I don't think we would be going two key positions for our first two picks. Could be 1 key position and 1 midfielder though.Just found this, could be pretty spot on:

Would gws swap 2-13 for 7-15 for a future r2
As I said unless we're getting a deal that is too good to refuse I wouldn't be trading out of our current draft hand, unless we're moving up. Despite the limited exposure the recruiters at least have a good idea what the kids can do, next year there is no way of telling what sort of quality is in the draft. It's all well and good to look at the lists going around and get excited about the potential, especially for a side looking at bringing in KPPs to replace a couple of aging stars, but as I've said just how good are they, nobody really knows.I agree all these kids in this draft and next years had stuff all games over the past 2yrs.Mirror image.
My point is next years kids have at least a full year of games and more importantly those good enough go into the national comp against their future opponents or team mates.
Hence why i'd rather take 4 picks this year and 5+ next year.
I just can’t go past Hobbs. Racks up the touches, tackles, clearances, contested numbers and kicks goals. May not be the sexy Dusty match winner type, but he’s an absolute bull and we’ll be screaming out for that as soon as next season when Cotchin starts to decline and subsequently retires. Not to mention Hobbs is a tigers fan haha
No, if anything what Mr Magic suggested, our 7, 15 and future first for GWS 2 and 13
GWS have what we want, we need to pay more not the other way around. Of course, getting a deal that we win on would be beneficial but if we are being serious here, GWS aint doing a deal where their 2 first picks end up worse than what they have now but getting a 'future 2nd' to somewhat sweeten the deal.
It's like the crows offering 3 first rounders for a jump of 3 spots to secure No 1 pick and North knocking it back.
It needs to be enticing enough for GWS to bite.
