A first year draftee isn't going to come in and perform better than either Ryan or Nankervis and the more you look into them the less impressive they appear so you don't want to be picking one just because you need one.Anyone who thinks Riewoldt has more than one year left is kidding themselves. He'll be lucky to play 16 games and kick 30 goals would be a good return in 2022. Lynch ain't getting any younger or agile. I don't care about any mids who are available at our first pick or Mac Andrew. We must take Jye Amiss with our first pick cos if we don't Freo will next. There's gonna be crucial games where Lynch and Riewoldt are both out and I have little faith in Samson Ryan or Nank filling in. Our KPF stocks are as bare as ever so we must invest in a quality player like amiss. We have approx 15 players who can play as mids and more on the way but we only have 2 old injury prone KPF.
No but a second year player might. Gibcus in a year might enable Balta to go forward. IF Amiss is any good would be happy to see him at our first pick. As Richoplzbreed said, we have precious little backup backup.A first year draftee isn't going to come in and perform better than either Ryan or Nankervis and the more you look into them the less impressive they appear so you don't want to be picking one just because you need one.
Maybe he's just a fat campaigner now.Mac Andrew sounds much more appealing at 80kg than 70kg just quietly.
Read a similar rumour about Gibcus somewhere, can't remember where. If we can’t get Callaghan hope Hawks trade up. Hopefully the rumour of Ward being a flight risk is true.

In all seriousness, yes. But Balta as a utility in 2022 at both ends.I'm all for it if it releases Balta to the fwd line.
I honestly think that’s where we would go back to 17/18 and play Caddy as the second tall. Why not when he has lost his spot on the wing and seemingly has no other way back in. He kicked 40+ goals in 2018 and there’s always Dusty. Fritsch was the most dangerous Melbourne forward all year and most of the time the talls were just decoys in brown and McDonald. There’s plenty of different ways to work around the forward mix in 2022.Anyone who thinks Riewoldt has more than one year left is kidding themselves. If he is left by our 1st and Hobbs and Ward are gone, i suspect it will prove very temptingShifter giving him a big plug on SEN
Quick
Mobile
Team oriented
Strongly built
Lovely left foot
Big goal assist forward
And the fact Sheehan ONLY ever says positive things ... about EVERY draftee.Shifter Sheehan had some great things to say about Amiss today - his athletic prowess and his team first attitude.
I don’t know about reaching for him with our first though. Still like best available.
Maybe he just stands out in a year devoid of quality talls
If Gibcus was to fall to our first pick I'd be happy to snap him up and then look at landing 3-4 of the following which is possible if you look at how varied the rankings are of these guys from draft watcher to draft watcher.
Erasmus - 188cm 80kg
Goater - 190cm 79kg
Johnson - 193cm 80kg
Sinn - 186cm 82kg
Chesser - 186cm 83kg
Think our midfield refresh would be well advanced in 12 months time.
A tad optimistic, but thats ok. If Chesser does in reality drift into the 20's we should pounce at 26 like crazed maniacs. If Gibcus was to fall to our first pick I'd be happy to snap him up and then look at landing 3-4 of the following which is possible if you look at how varied the rankings are of these guys from draft watcher to draft watcher.

ExcellentI'd put the for sale sign up.
So say we get Erasumus at 15, are you saying 2-3 of your list there could be available at 26-28? I know mocks say 'between 15-30, but still, which 2 do you think we could realistically expect to be there. Except Chesser, aren't the rest mostly seen as top 20? And then, still aways to late 20s.If Gibcus was to fall to our first pick I'd be happy to snap him up and then look at landing 3-4 of the following which is possible if you look at how varied the rankings are of these guys from draft watcher to draft watcher.

Given the limited exposure, particularly of the Victorian kids I reckon there will be some serious sliders from what is the BF rankingsA tad optimistic, but thats ok. If Chesser does in reality drift into the 20's we should pounce at 26 like crazed maniacs.
Shifter Sheehan would’ve talked up Blaine Boekhurst. Put him into the “never take seriously” file with Kane Cornes and Matt Rendell.Shifter Sheehan had some great things to say about Amiss today - his athletic prowess and his team first attitude.

Can live with that.In all seriousness, yes. But Balta as a utility in 2022 at both ends.
He is coming off a 50 goal season where we at times were hopeless going inside 50, he still has his leap as well. Calling 2022 his last and predicting a drastic decline seems a bit prematureAnyone who thinks Riewoldt has more than one year left is kidding themselves. Perhaps, but the reverse could happen and teams rate the Vic kids on potential and rerate the WA/SA kids as just getting more exposure. The Vic kids have been rated for a few years and it's not like they played zero games. In July Sinn and Chesser in one rating were at 13/14 ahead of Johnson, who still was at 17. So I would love them to be there at our late 20s picks, but we'll see.See below.
We will be lucky to get 1 of the first 4. If we do get pick 2 I hope we bid on Daicos at 2 and Darcy at 3 before selecting Callaghan at 4 to keep the bastards honest.I closed it by accident. But I think the app was saying tigers (still) want pick 2.
I assume they rate calla
