Not a chance.I'll happily come and admit I was a poor judge with regard to RCD if he turns out a regular good performer. Will all you advocates for RCD come on admit you miss judged what a bog average player he was if he fails?
Wasn't it 7, 15, 26 and CJ for 1 and Norf's 2022 second? So effectively two firsts and CJ for 1 and a likely 2nd round upgrade. Would you give that for an 18-year-old Trent Cotchin? I would. The club seemed to think Horne was worth 3 first rounders and ccj. (Aka selling the farm)
Assuming that was legit

Yeah. Although I think the club as comfortable with picking Dow vs the cost in trading up.
We definitely seem to highly esteem our development and reckon if we get flawed but highly talented kids we can make them better all round.
The problem with trading up is that it is usually expensive and often you'll get the same player you would anyway. I guess it's the overall end results, e.g. 2 picks at 60% likelihood each or 1 at 70% and one at 35%. If you get that A grader then you've won. But once you get good journeymen, trading up starts to be problematic. You get a 150 gamer but potentially lose the chance at the same * 2.
I’ve watched all RCDs games and for all the stats that have been presented only once did I think he had a positive impact in a game. You know as well as I do that stats can just blur the actual truth. Don’t pull out the bullshite ‘did he run over the dog etc’.absolutely... why wouldn't they? we're all speculating. all we can do is go on the evidence we've seen to date. I and many others have presented repeatedly the evidence we think supports the view that he's a promising young player. I stand by it now, but will happily admit fault if wrong.
on the other hand all you've presented is your opinion that he's 'bog average' and a challenge to RCD to 'make you look silly' but nothing to support why you have that opinion in the first place, indicating bias, hence why I think he may have run over your dog![]()
Answer is a good one. He has the year to improve. How long is a piece of string?
But
With news that Lambert has taken him under his wing to get his tank and work rate up to AFL midfield standard I’ll be the first to call his piss weak heart out if he doesn’t make it
Answer satisfied?
I’m backing him in tho, cmon RCD activate beast mode
Thanks for your approval, can sleep tonightAnswer is a good one. He has the year to improve.
Absolutely MAD !!The club seemed to think Horne was worth 3 first rounders and ccj. (Aka selling the farm)

Imagine the pressure on the kid if north agreed to that dealAbsolutely MAD !!
What did Judd in his prime go for ? Dangerfield ? or even Buckley back in the day ?
2 x top 10 picks are like gold and you dont just throw them out willy nilly even though JHF has shown he can do it against men it doesnt mean he dominates at the higher level.
5 years down the line Rachele , Erasmus , Callaghan all might end up with a higher ceiling as far as we know but we just need to look back in history to see how many number #1 picks actually ended up the best player from their draft.
What would i have given up for JHF ? #7 + #15

Saints only have 62 & 66 after their first round pick to match bids for both kids. So they either go into massive deficit in 2022 or they engage in some wholesale live trading on draft night. Wonder if it would be worth a sneaky offer of our 27 & 28 for their first round pick. Would give us 7 9 15 & 26 at the draft. These 2 are impossible to get at those picks as the Saints will just match the bid.
Agree with the majority though... Also think Zac Taylor is in the discussions for pick 17... can't see him getting passed Hawthorn in the early 20's.
From what I've read he runs at about 50-50 in terms of contested & uncontested possessions. Also rated as one of the best stoppages players in the juniors, that doesn't suggest he has no contested game.Sonsie will be a bust. No contested game, short and slow.

Our ability to pick talent in the first round is pretty underwhelming. I’d rather we trade to get a player we really like than sit back and take what falls. Transformational players tend to go top 5, it’s a big risk but the rewards tend to be flags.

Then in 3-4 years wanted to go home and we get the Crows/Pears supporters telling us PSDImagine the pressure on the kid if north agreed to that deal
And then he has nagging soft tissue injuries
Richmond big footy would implode

Sounds like Ellis.
trading up is fine but at what cost
when you are giving away pick #7 plus another 1st rounder for an untried kid you better be bloody sure that kid is going to become a gun player otherwise yu end up going backwards. If you have a good talent identification department and in a draft like this year there will be many diamonds in the rough to be had.
I like our picks 26,27,28 and we should be able to find some real gems at that range from the vic kids this year
Love it… five picks and we end up with nine players7. Hobbs Ward Sonsie
17. Sonsie Sinn Chesser
26-28. 3 of Bazzo Williams Roberts Macdonald Taylor Sheldrick Owens Windhager

Sorry, 8… we’ve got Sonsie twice!Love it… five picks and we end up with nine players![]()
Our first rounders have been just OK, and that's saying it nicely. 2nd round pretty good.
Hopefully we do some serious thinking and get at least a solid B+ grade player with pick 7 and 15.
I agree that the top end is where the gold usually sits. You can get them later, but it's more dicey.
Spot on. Greatest chance of getting a star happens in the first few picks. Trade tigers.Ellis, Lennon, Higgins, RCD, Dow, I have some hope for the last two but doing what your advocating this is the sum of 6 first round picks. Hasn’t exactly set us up for the future.
I’d trade them all for a decent midfielder. So I see no reason not to trade any two first round picks to get a player we want. Picks are over rated.
