I know a lot of you have heard stuff but a mate of mine says dead set we are into sonsie. He says gobbs and sonsie are all but done.

Who is Gobbs?

I knew a girl with that nickname a long time ago but that wasn't because of her foot skills.

Because we can get something for moving back but have to give something up to move forward

What do we have to give up??? Virtually nothing

What to we get back??, virtually nothing so we end up with a team of role players and Dusty breaks his back carrying the load.

Getting Balta, Bolton and Graham was a minor miracle

Tigers need midfielders is a common theme but what happens to Dow. Ross. Stack. Rcd. Bolton. Graham. Baker. (24 and under group) in the short and long term?
Answers are as follows:
Dow - Might be able to cut it as a full time midfielder but too early
Ross - Very much doubt there is any improvement left in him and the club should be looking to upgrade
Stack - Plays his best footy on a flank and very much doubt he'll ever have the tank to do more than a few rotations through the middle
RCD - Been just OK and it has been a long time. Would need to come on leaps and bounds to even be considered as the future of the midfield. Make or break year.
Bolton - Has been great, needs to keep building fitness to play in the middle more frequently.
Graham - What you see is what you get. Valuable player but never going to be a top 20 league midfielder.
Baker - Have been pleased with him through the middle and up forward. Needs to keep building his tank.

From the above, my view would be there are 3 blokes that can play in the middle and two have question marks over how long they can do that for (Bolton and Baker). Dow I'm saying it's too early to call but I'd be looking at upgrading our options on RCD/Ross and even Graham if we can.

The other issue with the above is size. Most of the blokes there are under 183cm with only RCD and Ross above. Means you get monstered by teams like Melbourne who have significant size advantages.

He's going to be 3rd banana to Lynch and JR. My concern is if we play like we did in 2021. Horrible ball movement. It's a waste of Baltas talent.. I have never really seen him play as a deep fwd and with his prodigious kick Baltad be better at half fwd at least.
Not deep forward, high CHF, no need to even go into the 40m zone. Lynch at FF, Jack third tall going where he wants and taking the 3rd best defender, guarantee he will enjoy that role, and Balta going from 40m to the wing/centre area. Our transition was lamentable last year because we barely took a mark for the season in that arc.

Is there a chance Amiss could fall to pick 15… 😮

The changes are …
  • Richmond takes Josh Gibcus at Pick 9 (altered from Matt Johnson)
  • St Kilda takes Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera at Pick 11 (altered from Josh Gibcus)
  • West Coast takes Campbell Chesser at Pick 12 (altered from Neil Erasmus)
  • Essendon takes Josh Sinn at Pick 13 (altered from Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera)
  • Port Adelaide takes Matt Johnson at Pick 14 (altered from Josh Sinn)
  • Richmond takes Neil Erasmus at Pick 17 (altered from Jacob Van Rooyen)
