Really interesting. I would be disappointed if Fremantle walk away from this draft with 3 midfielders and no forwards. Maybe next year is the year both Taberner and Lobb get through uninjured?

I'm assuming that if you get Carlton's pick 6 for Cerra, then you'd go best available with that pick - Erasmus in my draft, then Jye Amiss with pick 8.
I ruined that when I let West Coast live trade to the pick before that and steal him off you.
I'm not sure if Van Rooyen or Jack Williams would be too much of a reach there while there are still highly rated midfielders on the board?
For some reason I'm thinking those key forwards will be taken by Freo, Richmond, Brisbane, Gold Coast or Hawthorn - clubs that have already taken a midfielder first and whose second pick is around the right range.

Yes I thought the rat-cunning move you had WC do was very shrewd, and not impossible. It is a move I could see them making in the right circumstances. In fact if we aren't sold on Erasmus we could entertain a deal for our first and end up with Amiss (with pick 8/10) and Wanganeen-Millera/Rachele/Johnson (with WC pick) plus some change (Hough).

It could be a really interesting draft.
If after the top 5, the next 20-30 are really as even as they say, it gives clubs with the early picks a good opportunity to sell them to clubs desperate to get in early. Drop down 5 or 10 spots to pick a similar player to who you would have anyway while upgrading next year's draft hand.

Honestly don’t believe it’s an even draft between 5 and 30.

We simply haven’t seen enough of the Vic kids. If we had, there would be a better understanding of the draft prospects.

Would love this haul. I'm all in on Ward and Clarke in particular.

A poster on our board who is linked with our club in this department said it was very difficult of that exact reason...I asked their opinion of the quality/depth of this draft.

"Really hard to determine. Comparing boys in WA playing PSA v those playing Colts v those playing league v those playing country footy in Vic or Tas v those who are metro Melb and have hardly played in 2 years. And these last 2 years are probably the most important in terms of footy development in the teenage years.

So projections are really difficult.

But in answer to your question - 2 or 3 above a list of 10-12 then another group of 20.
Talls not as dominant as in past but still some reasonable quality. Mids lack real top end quality in large numbers but those considered above average are quite numerous."

Id be happy with that.

I reckon Id be more happy with Callaghan and Amiss, but either way,

Love Brisbane’s first pick. Conway isn’t a need for Brisbane (a cheap, mature, stop gap ruck forward might be).

Personally I would have selected Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera at our second pick.

Goater and NWM would be a very popular combination on the Lions board.

Wouldn't you have Conway as a replacement for Archie?

don’t think freo would take JVR that early.

Unless we lose Tom Mitchell, I think most Hawks fans are hoping we read out Wards name before Hobbs.
