I assume StKilda will be all over Sinn unless one of the better prospects fall to them
I would have thought he'd be relative low priority compared to guys like NWM, Hobbs or Ward

Hobbs and Ward yes, but both look unlikely to be available.

I can't see how NWM is anymore of a need than Sinn though.

It would just come down to who we think the better player is.

Sinn is far from perfect I'm terms of need but he has been linked to us for quite a while

If Gibcus is still available at St Kilda's first selection, who says no to this deal?

Saints give 11 and a F2, recieve 15 (GWS)
receive 21 (Freo)

GWS give 15, F1 receive 11, F2 (StK)

Freo give 21, receive F1 (GWS)
Freo. They can get a mid 20's pick and a F2 for 21

GWS give 15, F1 receive 11, F2 (StK)

Freo give 21, receive F1 (GWS)
seems reasonable.

Freo do, they’ll hold until start of day 2 to asses all the offers, personally I’d prefer we use it on JVR if he’s still available. If not slide down a few spots and bring in a F2 from one of the lower teams that way we get two top 30 players, one this year and one next year.

Who's going to give up a 2nd rounder for a slight pick upgrade in the 20's?
It's happened every time that it's been a 2 night draft. Brisbane did it for a 1 pick upgrade

Notes
Gold Coast with the loss of Greenwood, probably a slightly different tact to planned. They are said to be big on Hobbs, but pre-greenwood I think they would have went Andrew or Gibcus
Richmond would have liked to grab Ward or Hobbs with the first pick, both off the board, they are said to like Sinn and would have probably like to trade up to get him with the second pick after taking one Ward or Hobbs first.
St Kilda- Considered Andrew here but thought they would priortise outside class with this pick over the project pick.
West Coast- Take Gibcus as the slider and a best available pick
Essendon- Found Essendon a tough choice here, no obvious holes in the list, think Johnson as a well performed well balanced midfielder might go here.
GWS- Get Andrew who will be considered by most teams, but as a project player I think most will opt for a more ready made option Essendon may take him
Brisbane- Goater is a risk reward selection, great athlete, clear flaws, Brisbane in a position to take this risk
Richmond- Chesser some outside class, given they didnt get an inside mid earlier, may opt for a hard nut here, perhaps Draper or the take the likelybig slider Roberts with a pick in the 20's
Sydney- Will need to replace the battle hardened midfield shortly, class galore on the outside, think Draper may fill this role
Melbourne- Pretty sorted everywhere, a young tall at that can play at either end will add depth to their squad.
Brisbane- Wilmott long term defender seems to suit their needs

If this happens, all my Christmases will have come at once.

Geelong might
Maybe they will, maybe not.

I presumed by the comment that there might have been some mail that there was a club keen to do that deal.

I guess it will come down to if a highly rated player slips through like Robertson did two years back.

Just because it happened with the Lions though doesn't guarantee it happening again though.

It's a lot to give up for a slight upgrade.

Sinn is a local lad that has been linked to the Saints for a while, I can't see us grabbing NWM ahead of him.

It's a lot to give up for a slight upgrade.

It happened in 2018 too. GC gave up 27 and 32 to get to 23 (last pick of the first round; for McLennan), and GWS gave up 28 and Carlton's future second to get up to 24 (first pick of the second round; for Hill). Clubs are willing to give up a lot to get up the order and nab someone they feel has slid/want to jump in before another club.

Last year was a bit different because it went back to the single night draft.
