List Mgmt. 2021 Draft Prospects

I just looked up the count in 2000 to see who would win if he was stripped... Scott West
At the Brownlow count the tables were in alphabetical order so we were next to West Coast. After 21 rounds West was in front and Melbourne played West Coast in r22. The West Coast players were congratulating West because they knew Woewodin was no good against them in the last round.

Woewodin got the 3 despite not being one of 9 Melbourne players to poll in that game in their B & F

Hope we are. Think he’s perfect for us.

Yeah, Weightman is a generalist as a small forward. Jack of all trades, reasonably fast, decent tackling, can crumb reasonably well, and has the marking in a feather in his cap. Someone who is faster and more of a specialist crumber would really complete our forward line.

Absolutely, however he looks likely to go top 30. So we’ll need to muster something up if we are interested.

How many picks do we have?

We need to get both Rankine (class small forward) and Darcy’s mate and jack Williams 196cm forward with long wing span and pace also has late birthday 🎂 then turn him into our Chb at about pick 35 his a steal.
Rankin will be late 50s
Add Darcy to them and we have made out like bandits

Definitely sounds like we are in the hunt for a small forward with one of our other picks which makes sense. Weightman needs a mate.

Players who have mentioned we have interviewed them include Hugh Stagg and Paul Curtis. Both whom look very capable with plenty of x-factor and speed.

As you are all aware I really want Jesse Motlop but if we can’t trade up into the second round to take him, i would be happy with either one of those two mentioned.

No idea who either of them are but prefer Huge Stagg based on their names

Can wait to hear from Power once we draft Darcy to find out where the club wants to develop him.

"We really like his versatility...we see him playing various roles."

We'd probably lock him in the gym for the first year. He'll sleep on an air mattress in the corner.

He might get the Ayce Cordy treatment. He'd buy 7 x 2l bottles of milk, make a shake after his training, then sit on the couch and drink the rest of a 2l bottle to try and gain weight.

Timmy has spent the past few years mixing yoghurt and muesli together to add to his normal diet to get the calories in.

Bedendo has done a decent job at stacking it on, so someone knows what they’re doing.

Assuming Dean, Alleer and Schlongdong (not that it sounds like we're interested in him anyway) are all gone by the time we get a 2nd pick, anyone know anything about this bloke?

Noah Pegoraro (West Perth – WAFL)
Age:
24
Position: Key defender (194cm, 90kg)

A late bloomer at the age of 24, highlighted by the significant improvement he showed from 2020 to 2021 across various areas. Pegoraro produced increases in disposals (10 last year to 18 this year), marks (3.2 to 5.6), intercept possessions (5.6 to 7.8), intercept marks (1.8 to 2.6) and spoils (3.0 to 4.4) in 2021. Among the players to play at least 10 WAFL league matches this season, Pegoraro led the competition for intercept possessions per match as he impressed with his natural speed, agility and composure with ball in hand. He then turned heads at the WA-based draft combine post-season, recording a standing vertical jump of 75cm – ranked equal-second among all draft prospects – as well as a 20m sprint time of 2.926 seconds and a running vertical jump of 92cm – both ranked fifth nationally. Strong chance to get picked up in the national draft.

Not that I really know anything about the depth of this years draft pool - but I get the feeling there could be good value late due to the squeeze of the covid caused list reductions. Teams like Carlton and Gold Coast are only taking one player each and a couple of others might only take 2.

As tempting as it is to trade 23 out and then back into the second round after Darcy is taken, we might be better placed to leave our draft capital in 2022 and pick up some of these late draft prospects like Pegoraro.

If we could secure an additional early 2022 second round pick it could then put us in a good position to try to trade our first round up next year and secure an elite talent.

"We had him as a certain number 1 pick. So are very pleased that we got him at 3..."
