List Mgmt. 2021 Draft Prospects

taken from a saints fan forum,

Felix Flockhart

Age: 19
Height: 202cm
Weight: 80kg

Club: Sandringham Dragons

Position: Forward/ruck

Flockhart is a big boy with potentially big upside and has attracted some interest despite limited football exposure. A gifted athlete, Flockhart can play forward or ruck and has a good set of hands. He impressed for Brighton Grammar during the 2019 APS season and was set to join Sandringham’s NAB League and VFL programs last year but that did not eventuate after the seasons were scrapped due to COVID-19. Flockhart showed a few glimpses of his talent in the Colgate Young Guns game, but didn’t have a big match. Clubs are intrigued, but whether they need to see more from Flockhart before taking a punt on him remains to be seen.

Both Dante and Felix have been played more as forward/rucks than ruck/forwards but that doesn't mean that they are going to be the same at the higher level. Having that versatility is something that I like to see.

Neither will be ready to play AFL prior to 2025, so is it worth drafting them now?

Reckon we will use two of our picks upgrading Sweet and Roarke to the main list
So might only have two active picks
The new list size rules make this almost impossible to predict, it's so opaque to fans because the club could go into the season with less players or tinker with the rookie/main list sizes almost to their heart's content. We definitely could have the room for extra picks, but it's entirely possible we use them on upgrades.

Even if we do use upgrades we will have rookie picks at least, though.

Our group of depth/developing players is stronger than it's been in recent years, so this makes sense. Can't see us going back to drafting 6+ players each year any time soon

Toby Conway, 204cm Geelong falcons, ruckman, wouldn’t make an immediate impact but is already 90kgs.

I don’t mind Conway. Is probably 4 years from being AFL ready though. Which could mean that he leaves for Geelong once he is developed…. It’s not like any players return to the geriatriCats.

He is a KPD.

Baker would be more a third tall defender with the potential to possible grow into a KPD wouldn’t he. Haven’t seen a lot of him, as haven’t been around the footy in tas much lately. But not sure how much more he will grow he’s already well above his old man who was a nuggety mid/forward. Would have great footy nous though given his old man was a very good footballer and successful coach

He is about 195cm and has been played full back for Tassie. It is all about bulking him up really. Will Splann looks like a good player too but not for us as we have enough KPF's on our list at the moment.
