List Mgmt. 2021 Draft Prospects

Interesting that Schlensog hasn't nominated for the draft.
I wonder if that could mean he has agreed to go to a club as a DFA in the pre-season supplemental selection period - similar to what Sydney are doing with McCartin?

Maybe a club that needs to keep list spots available in order to match a father son or academy bid...?
Would that be Geelong?

Maybe St.Kilda

Given the retirement of Easton Wood I wouldn't be surprised if we were interested in a player like Zac Becker who could fill the void of being able to play tall and small in defence and intercept.

I love me some 'mature' aged draftees. We need more of it!

We do have Crozier and Khamis in that position, as well as Williams BUT they are the second most important defender in the back 6 imo (behind full back). I'd like to see Williams off the leash a little bit, he can be super deadly by foot.

We have Raak as a free kit as a Cat B kid too.
I suspect Tim O'Brien will basically play the role for the next two years

I'll take this kid.

“You could see that he was getting antsy that he wasn’t getting into the game and the next thing you see, he basically stalked down one of the opposition kids outside the stoppage on half-back, just to get involved,” Bourke recalled. “He jumps up and nailed someone off the back of the stoppage, which is reflective of his character in a way - he’ll find a way to be involved in the game physically, regardless of what’s going on.” Everyone has a story about Visentini’s aggression on the footy field. Even at training, he brings that unflinching attack. Forwards coach Danny Byrne remembers several sessions where he was “almost punching on in the goal square” with teammate Ben Andrews during match simulation. “When he’s challenged physically, he gets in that mode and is really hard to stop,” Byrne said.

Against the Western Jets, he was the primary ruckman in the second half, against Geelong Category B rookie Paul Tsapatolis, and competed manfully against the bigger body. “I was just focussing on doing everything I could to compete and create a play for my other teammates pretty well,” he said, following the game. “I hadn’t gone into the game expecting to play much ruck and then playing against an AFL listed player was pretty cool and held my own against him so it was a good confidence builder.

Fits Bevo's versatility mantra, can play KPD or ruck, tough and unflinching and will belt a bloke if necessary.

Can’t complain. Buku and Raak can compete for Wood’s spot long term while O’Brien fills in.
Yeah with Wood gone it seems Raak is a far bigger chance. Also seems to have improved a lot since last year. Loving the developing defenders we've got on our list - just missing a genuine tall KPD (as I don't personally think Darcy settles in defence)

This is where I want us to pick up Dean or Visentini. Or Baker Smith, may as well get a third Smith on the list.

Super keen on those two. Surely Visentini is in range of whatever leftovers we have (assuming we don't trade back in).

Would never say no to having two B.Smiths in our side.

Absolutely love the thought of having a young tall developing with lots of aggro. You just know at least they’ll be competitive and that’s already a big tick.

I still have concerns over Buk's tank. Fingers crossed the kid keeps working hard

I'm a huge fan of Eric Benning, really hope we put in a bid for him if we manage to trade up

What pick range is Dean likely to come in at ? 40’s ?

We will likely have a pick in 50s after Darcy goes so it will be interesting to see if we can split 23 for points and a 2022 pick then use 2022 picks to trade back into 2nd or 3rd round.

A young KPD is a must imo in addition to Darcy. Let’s hope GWS select Daicos first

I think we have settled on our rucks now, although I struggle to see how Martin sees out the whole of 2022.

I am not expecting we pick up a KPD in the draft.

Someone has got Schenslog to not nominate for the draft, which means he has a deal in place for after the draft. Why would they wait? The club concerned must need the list spot to keep a lot of live draft picks for F/S or Academy players…. So, it’s really down to either us or the Pies. I think it is us but nothing is guaranteed. As long as the money is close, you would think our situation is better than the Pies.

Note:
I am a big believer in Schenslog and was surprised he hadn’t signed with anyone yet.

It could also be Carlton rumours were that schenslog was going back to Geelong
