It's a joke. I assume they see the theatre of the NFL draft and want to replicate it but it's dumb. There is no excitement waiting five minutes between picks, particularly when much of the first round can be relatively predictable. Spreading over two nights is a waste of time too. Give teams maximum of three minutes per pick, with an option of calling for a two minute extension maximum of two times. Half hour break after the first round then the rest of the draft in one night.
