Doesn't make use of his athleticism.

Not the worst criticism. Could maybe be improved with coaching and more game time. Don’t know if he has had a recent growth spurt or a positional change but sometimes that can take awhile to adjust to. You wonder if he had had a full year to train and play, would he have ironed out those issues?

#28 Mitch Knevitt

"The most outstanding player across both NAB League games on Sunday, Knevitt continues to boost his stocks after yet another ominous outing in midfield. At 193cm, his contested work was again strong and the 18-year-old dominated in that sense, proving difficult to bring down. Arguably even more impressive was his sustained impact around the ground and up forward, with Knevitt’s work-rate and pack marking leading to a statline boasting 36 disposals and 10 marks. His handling was so clean with one-grab takes in every context, and one of his contested marks lead directly to a third term major. He’s a prospect on the rise."

"Mitch Knevitt has been building throughout the year be it for the Geelong Falcons or Vic Country in their recent clashes with Vic Metro. On the weekend, Knevitt produced what was ultimately his best performance, racking up a whopping 36 disposals, 10 marks and eight inside 50s, which topped the game in each of those stats. Most notably, his contested marking ability and athleticism for a tall is what makes him such a unique prospect, and one who will with time and more development become well-rounded and iron out some of his deficiencies."

I'd hate to see what he could do if he did make use of his athleticism...

I like to look through the list of draft nominees each year for the most amusing/weird sounding name - Wylie Buzza was probably the funniest in recent years. Of those drafted last year, Phoenix Spicer rose from the flames to probably take the prize, rookie listed Malachy Carruthers sounds like a villain from a Harry Potter book, while pre-season SSP grabs Deakyn Smith's and Rhyan Mansell's parents deserve a good slap.

Rhyan Mansell is by far the worst of the worst. People who change the spelling of names thinking they are clever or hip deserve to be neutered.

So what’s the knock on Knevitt?

He gets constantly mocked by French Taunters.

Made worse by the fact that his only purpose in Richmond's side this year seemed to be sniping far more talented players off the ball.

That the thread on this is over 200 pages tells you that society has gone backwards - Terrible baby names. I think I laugh hardest at those bogans who thought they were clever naming daughters Khaleesi. Starting with that was her ****ing title, not name. Topped though by 'Oooh, she'll be like this awesome dragon riding Queen!', to 'Oh, now she's named after an insane murderer!, how much to change her name to Jesyikaaaaa?'

It's the hair, isn't it? :)

Seriously though, was Shaw fast?

"Securing a 2.976 second 20m sprint and a 6:18 in the 2km time trial, the second and third best times in the respective tests at the Vic Country combine, 194cm Mitch Knevitt wowed onlookers. Among other tall midfielders, Knevitt's 20m sprint compares favourably to Scott Pendlebury's 3.01, Marcus Bontempelli's 3.2 and Patrick Cripps' 3.23."

6:18 would have placed him in the top ten at last years national combine. 2.976 puts his 20m on the same level as Miles Bergman.

I'm not saying I'd pick him with 12 (cause that would be a waste), but I can see him as the type of player that we would specifically target if the draft went pear shaped. We love guys who have speed, height and the ability to continually get to one contest after another.

What about swap 12 and our late pick for Richmond’s 15 and 26 then try pick up Josh Sinn, Tyler Sonsie or Josh Goater at 15 then grab Knevitt with 26 and a future 3rd if someone tries to to take him before our 26?

If you wanna get super creative then

12 to Rich for 15 and 26
15 to Haw for 21 and 24

End Result

In- 21, 24, 26
Out- 12 and late pick

remember this is a very good draft heaps of potential 15-20 picks will slide to the 40’s even

LOL - would we do it if the roles were reversed?

This entity has been doing a mock draft at a painstaking 2 or 3 selections a day, but seems to have stopped for today immediately before our first pick. So, it looks like our choices include the likes of NW-M, Arlo Draper, Sonsie, Sinn, Van Rooyen, Roberts and Knevitt. Not sure how many of those will be left for us in reality, but if I like their choice I might be the first person to give them a like on Insta or Twitter, because they've had bugger all so far ;)

EDIT: Predictable really:

Since Andrew appears to be unrealistic, I’m in on Sinn. And hopefully we can trade in for Knevitt.

Based on Twomey's final Guide the players likely to be available at our first pick are

NWM
Sinn
Johnson
Draper
Sonsie
He also said we would have a look at Erasmus. He would be a good pick up if he was there at our pick. I would be very happy with him, Johnson, sinn or sonsie with our first. He also said Draper more likely to feature in the second round than the first. He would be one I would be happy to trade next years second for.

I would absolutely trade next year's second for Draper this year if he's there in the second and we have the opportunity.
