It will be touch and go. At this point hes probably around that 15-20 mark.

Next year is a very well rounded draft. Elite mids, exciting talls and exciting flankers. And thats not including the raft of guys we havent even had the chance to see much/any of from vic yet

We have our Rd 1 pick + our Rd 4 pick and supposedly Hawthorn's Rd 4 via Adelaide and GWS's Rd 4 pick via Collingwood trades on draft night.

Can see us trading out 3 to 6 players for picks if we don't make the GF and/or win the flag. This year is the last year to deliver for a few players.

Rd 2 pick traded out for Aliir and Rd 3 for Fantasia.

If we have say pick 60+65+70 for Rd 4 picks that is only 146+90+39 = 275pts. With discount that = approx pick 38.

There will be some bolters from this year's pool that missed out too.

Ha ha.

A WRETCHED run of bidding luck continued for Adelaide, as Richmond's growing tag as the competition's big bidders continued in what was arguably the most compromised NAB AFL Draft in recent history.

The Crows became the first side to ever place a bid on a father-son or Academy prospect with pick No.1 on Wednesday night, calling the name of Jamarra Ugle-Hagan – tied to the Western Bulldogs' Next Generation Academy – with the first selection.

Thinking Michael Graham.
We are going to get a serious player here.
I've heard Geelong are very keen

2021 draft
1. NGA players can't be bid on during first 20 picks.
2. Father Sons can be bid on during first 20 picks.
3. The northern clubs, ie Brisbane, GC, Sydney and GWS academy kids can be bid on on during first 20 picks.

Northern clubs have Club Academies (AFL Rule 14) and can stick indigenous and multicultural kids from their zone into their Club Academy. The other 14 clubs have Next Generation Academies (AFL Rule 15) so they can't bid on first 20 picks.

Question is where does Gold Coast's Darwin zone sit? It is part of their Academy and therefore they get a free hit!

.
Next Generation Academy Concessions

From 2021, Next Generation Academies (NGAs) - targeting Indigenous and multicultural players - will be overseen by the AFL Talent Pathway program with support from AFL Clubs. As part of this change, the AFL Commission determined that the concession model for NGAs be revised to reflect this.

The following changes to the NGA concession model ahead of the 2021 and 2022 NAB AFL Drafts will be as follows:
  • From 2021, nominated NGA prospects will only be eligible to be matched from Pick 21 in the NAB AFL Draft. All other players selected from Pick 41 onwards can be matched by their Club using their next available selection, while undrafted players are still eligible to pre-selected on the rookie list.
  • From 2022, nominated NGA prospects will only be eligible to be matched from Pick 41 onwards by their Club using their next available selection, while undrafted players are still eligible to pre-selected on the rookie list.

From the 30 September 2019 announcement of GC concessions where they got 4 extra/priority picks over 3 drafts, a Darwin zone and can rookie up to 10 players on their list.

It will also get Darwin as part of its expanded Academy access zone, while it will be able to pre-list players out of that region without the AFL's normal bidding processes.

Reading that Jason Horne is SA's best prospect ever. Sound about right?

Jason Horne (South Adelaide/South Australia)
21/06/2003 | 182cm/75kg
Inside Midfielder/Forward

Horne is the current frontrunner among next year’s crop after returning a sensational season of football. Having already established himself among South Adelaide’s Under 18 setup, he quickly came to dominate this year’s proceedings and earned a call-up to the senior side. He adapted well to the speed of the game playing mostly as a forward, soaring for high marks and backing his speed across the ground. The 2019 SA Under 16 MVP has very few weaknesses, but plenty of weapons at his disposal.

USUALLY clubs are well aware of the best prospects available in the following year's NAB AFL Draft.

But given the circumstances of this season, with limited game time for some key players and also a reduction of recruiters at club land, they will head into 2021 not knowing the group quite as well as normal.

Regardless, their attention will shift quickly from the 2020 pool to next year's intake, and here are 10 draft prospects to keep track on throughout the year.

Looks like a midfielder draft which is what's been said for awhile now.
Need to position our selves to get 1 of the top few mids.
Hopefully after another good yr we need to trade our first with a player or 2 to move up.

Erasmus looks an interesting proposition as a small/mid sized forward for next year. A couple of good WA talls, plus one each from SA and Vic too

We would be looking for some additional leg speed and precise delivery in the side. That said, could Lachlan Carrigan then be a chance for a PSS pick for us - prior to next season?
