Has anyone got any thoughts on how much the disrupted year in 2020 and the less than perfect 2021 has had on the draft crop?

It's not a great group and I think the lack of football last year and the disruption this year has probably had an impact on that.

SA which has been largely unaffected looks like having a really good group this year

Would you even do Ollie straight swap for pick 1? Unless he is actively forcing himself out? I don’t think so.

Position ourselves in the next two drafts to get the talent we want. If Horne goes to North back ourselves to bring him home when he’s out of contract. Worry about what we can control.

At the moment we’ve only got 1 pick then jase wiping out points so Parker has to earn his money scouting bargain late draft pickups as we have future needs that need addressing very soon.

I'd be trying to go into this year with only 2-3 picks. Its not a deep draft. First rounder, Jase and one other should be enough. Frederick as part of the main list + a free agent and I'd only worry about 2 picks.

We need to go heavy into next year though. Try and get 3-4 top 30 picks if possible

Hasn't played a game this year, not sure he played a game last year (at least at NAB level) either. Needs to actually get on the park. So at this point, if we pick him it would be on the back of name only and not for any sort of exposed form.

Yeah agree with next year. Would love to trade in more picks next year if possible.

We don’t need to put Frederick on the main list. The new rules say they can be on the rookie list for 4 years because of covid I’d keep him there
Prob be rid of Hartlett, garner, Burgoyne, Goldsack maybe lienert
Would let us pick up 3 draft picks and a free agent

Who was hot on it? Port? We traded two picks away

I mean some of us on the board, I recall Philthy amongst others looking ahead to this draft over last years. There was the vein of thought that because there was so little footy some good kids from last year would be missed and be available this year and that this crop would get a good run at it. Port trading out it’s picks probably has as much to do with them getting eaten up in matching a bid on Burgoyne as anything as not rating the draft.

Guess the point remains, what suggests next year will be better? All I can say is that I’m glad we aren’t rebuilding!
