What are peoples’ thoughts on Lohmann?

maybe a reasonable small forward option for us with a mid to later Pick?

And I see Greg Clark is again being brought up. Depth mid option?
Lohmann is more of a high half forward/winger than a pure small forward. For a pick in the 40+ range he is definitely worth the gamble but if we’re after a pure small forward there are other options.

Fair. Can kick a goal. Gives me an Amon with better goal sense vibe.

which small forwards are worth a crack?

Lohmann is a serious talent and definitely someone I’d be looking at but as far as pure small forwards go we’d be looking at Jesse Motlop & Judson Clarke early and later in the draft Ronald Fejo, Jahmal Stretch, Harrison White, Josiah Kyle and Tyson Stengle might be worth a look. Paul Curtis from the Western Jets is a talent and is only at 183cm but plays similar to Brett Ebert and Mark LeCras as a lead up marking forward at a smaller size.
There are plenty of mids we’d be looking at that could play as a small forward to start their career such as Cooper Murley and Sam Butler though.

Lohmann, Motlop, Stretch?
Butler a quick small fwd who can also impact in the midfield ie. perfect as the high half forward Ken seems to love employing!.
Butler offers the potential to start as a half forward and move into the midfield later. He has a lot of upside and good athletic traits , quite quick and 184cm. However reckon he will go in low 20's and 16 is too early from our perspective. So unless we get another late 1sr to early 2nd selection he will be gone.

COLLINGWOOD will land Geelong tall Nathan Kreuger in a late pick swaps deal.

The Magpies have handed over pick 41 – the first of their four selections in the 40s – for Kreuger and also received the Cats' pick 55.

That Geelong have landed pick 41 for a 2 game player says everything about the rating of late picks in this draft.

If Krueger is worth pick 41 there’s no way I’m letting spp go for a pick in the 30’s.

So 60, 70 and 71 have become 63, 73 and 74 with compo picks for Chol, Hewitt and Kelly. I assume there are a couple of more free agents move and compo picks awarded before trade / free agency period end.

I know what types of responses this comment will get but I wouldn’t mind port getting Tyson Stengle. 22 years old, in the SANFL played 19 games kicking 44 goals for the year, Premiership player.

would allow Butters and or Rozee to be able 100% commit to the midfield.

Probably won’t happen but might be a good move.

Only the off field stuff is a worry

No it wouldn't, because Stengle is shit and wouldn't make our side.

If you're a fringe AFL player, seems that the best thing you can do for your on-field reputation is do some stupid shit off-field and get yourself sacked. Suddenly everybody seems to think "oh he was only sacked for off-field indiscretions, maybe we could get him and fix up his behaviour!" and forgets that the player wasn't actually much good in the first place.

Tyson Stengle moving to Melbourne to live with Eddie Betts isn't he?

Wouldn't happen, he's not getting a game ahead of Raz or Robbie, meanwhile he can head to Melbourne and walk into a best 22 while hanging out with Eddie

He's going to Geelong. Eddie Betts has developed a strong relationship with him and will mentor him. He's lucky to get the opportunity but if he stays on the rails he will play 100 plus games for them. That is a good return on a player 2 other clubs have burnt off.

I dont see it. He was terrible at the Crows. Kicking a bunch of goals in the sanfl means shit

The white stuff is slightly better in Geelong than in Adelaide. Stengle will again fail at his 3rd AFL club.

Another blow for Victorian draft prospects. The Vic Metro NAB AFL Draft Combine, which was scheduled for Sunday at Holden Centre for nearly 40 players, has been cancelled. Under COVID-19 restrictions and with exams ahead the AFL has decided to pull the pin on it.

Teams with the most amount of scouts in Vic watching these players the furthest out and getting to school games as well as nab league will be the clubs that make out of this draft well by identifying the undervalued Vic kids.

So basically the rich well staffed Vic clubs.

From what i've heard a lot of scouts were either banned or locked out of attending school games in Vic this year
