Hey guys, scuse the intrusion. Thought you might like to have this resource on your board (mods might like to sticky):

A couple of the draft board posters have speculated that if:
- A bid for Sam Darcy slides to pick 3 or lower
- We'll trade our R1 2022 pick to the bulldogs for 23 & their R2 2022 pick
- Which at a guess would be something like 2022 16 for 2021 23 & 2022 35

- Start With 12 & ~55 (after bids) + JB this year, and ~16, ~34, ~48 (Syd) next year
- Ending With 12 & 23 + JB this year, and ~34, ~35 (WB) & ~48 (Syd) next year

Thoughts? Is getting access to a Chesser/Draper this year worth dropping our first to a second next year? If we're targeting a ruck next year then maybe. They seem to drop lower than everyone expects every year.

Risky. And won't it be 25 after bids?

Their exercise had the franchise bidding on Jase at #37 with us matching, thereby putting us into a points deficit of about 300 after taking Arthur Jones at 60. All just supposition of course.

I've never even considered Erasmus surely he doesn't fall into our Laps ? Especially with the WA clubs having 3 picks.

I was going by Twomey's comments on each player. He thought Erasmus could slide.

He also linked us to Wilmot which would be surprising. Although, half back

It's probably a reflection of the disparity between clubs in player rankings.

The last few days watching his highlights over and over, I can't help but think, when we will get someone who regularly can a) win the hard ball and b) then use it in an elite manner by foot. We have plenty of players who can do a) but bugger all who regularly do b).

This misinformation or selective promotion of players is real.
The majority of Journalists, especially your under 40's are managed by the Player Agents that are looking after the players they are commenting on.
I know the promotion is short lived, because ultimately the player is selected by Clubs who are not influenced by the media, but you often should be wary of what you are reading in the main stream media and on AFL promoted platforms.
I suppose it is just another example of how conflicted the AFL circus is.

First alphabetically is Tahj Abberley - now I know that Taj has long been popularised (we have our own) probably more from the surfing guy than the blues guy among Aussie bogans, but Tahj takes it to the next wanky level.

Sorry the list is paywalled, but I'll be looking through the 717 names for some more examples of wonderful baby names from 18 or so years ago...

Margaret River surfer Taj Burrow was the first male I can remember named Taj. Has the spelling changed to Tahj??

He was a 16-17 year old prodigy, that deliberately delayed going on the tour until he turned 18, which was a big deal back then, so that puts its at around 1994/95 I first heard Taj as a male name.

Edit just checked his wiki profile to see I have the dates right and I saw - Burrow was born in Yallingup, Western Australia, Australia to American parents ..... says it all.

I remember songwriter, guitarist and performer Tal Bachman, son of The Guess Who & Bachman-Turner Overdrive veteran Randy Bachman, who had the hit She's So High in 1999.

As bad as we have it here right now, it's still nowhere near the level of stupid names that dominated the African American births in the late 90s early 2000s. Every boy born seemed to have De, Ja or La added to the start of your everyday normal names.

The NBA and NFL is loaded with names like DeMarcus (oh and LaMarcus), DeAndre, LaMelo, JaMychal, DeJon, DeAnthony and the double whammy like DeMar DeRozan.

Were they all obsessed with the Sound of Music?

The deadline for delisted and non-retained rookie players to nominate for the 2021 national draft was 3pm Wednesday.
Constable, who was axed by the Cats earlier this off-season, has put his name into the pool and will be eligible for selection at the draft across November 24-25.

He is being “strongly considered” by the Suns, reporter Sam Edmund said on Dwayne’s World.
All clubs must use three draft picks and the Suns, owning pick 3 and then nothing until 95 or later, were intending to use theirs on veterans Hugh Greenwood

SWANS’ SWOOP TO WAIT FOR 2022
Sydney is still expected to add former No.1 pick Paddy McCartin but it won’t be through the draft.
McCartin is expected to join his brother Tom on the Swans’ list for the 2022 season, but the ex-St Kilda forward has not nominated for this year’s draft, reports AFL Media’s Callum Twomey.
He is instead set to join the club via the pre-season supplemental selection period (SSP), in which non-listed players can train with AFL clubs and then be added to the list ahead of the home and away season.

Last season’s SSP began on January 6 and ran until March 9. The AFL is yet to confirm the dates for 2022.

My gist was something like;

1. NM Horne-Francis
2. GWS maybe bid on Darcy
3. GWS Callaghan
4. GC bid on Daicos
5. GC Andrew
6. Ad Rachele
7. Ha maybe Ward
8. Fr Gibcus
9. Ri Hobbs

10-15 not in order Amiss, Wanganeen-Milera, Johnson, Erasmus, Sinn, Goater.

So Port probably getting a choice between the remaining 2 of the 10-15 group.

Simon the Good and John the Measurer make sense in that context, because the Le is preceding their surname.

D' (or De) was sometimes attributed to nobility because it means 'From' and could be attributed to the lands which the family rule over'. It makes little sense to proceed a first name. Of course, then you've got examples like O'Shea Jackson (better known as Ice Cube), which is quite clearly an Irish last name...so I think African Americans just don't give a **** and are happy using last names as first names.

I get the feeling that Mac Andrew might slide to us. Can't see the suns or Giants going that early and the other teams might not want a ruck that's so raw with their early pick either, which leaves us with one less from the above list to choose from
