Dream scenario would be someone like Sinn (4 in my rankings) or Ward (7) falling to our pick. That would be excellent. Sinn I think ultimately will become the better player but Ward is a definite need and a clear Boak replacement as well. Would be great.

Later on i'm hoping that there is a player from my 20's or 30's that falls through. Dream scenario would be someone like a Josh Browne, Connor Macdonald or Ned Long falling through to our next range of picks.

I'm hoping we have a choice of Johnson/Sinn/Sonsie at our pick. Didn't really consider Ward as I thought he would be long gone. If he or Hobbs slid that would be epic.

Interesting that you rate Sinn as high as 4.

What's your thoughts on us trading back into late second round if Matt Roberts/Jack Williams slide?

From that fox list Johnson or sinn would be perfect. Either of those are at the top of my realistic realistic opportunities. We need another mid, but I just see sinn as having so much upside that he would be hard to overlook. I really like sonsie, but there have been some knocks on his effort. But if any of ward, Hobbs or Erasmus fell to our picks we would have to take them surely? I don’t see any of those 3 as realistically falling to our pick.

Ward likeliest of the 3 to fall to our pick. But I'd have Sinn purely because he has played Midfield and has the speed and class ball delivery skills to become a point of difference in our midfield. He's spent very little time in the middle and from what I've seen, with a few more kilos, he'd be a very damaging inside mid. Long-term, I see Sinn as one of the better players coming out of this draft. He's got a great work ethic and leadership qualities too

Either of Ward or Erasmus would be ridiculous gets. Erasmus simply won't get past West Coast or Freo though. Ward may have them bluffed re moving interstate?
We wouldn't lose a minutes sleep over Ward not being keen on ending up here, he can have the captaincy when Ollie is finished with it.

The write-ups have us linked to Ward, Goater and Wilmot.

Wilmot would be an odd choice. I mean, he's an medium sized intercept marking machine at 183cm and has the run and carry that we seem to love but he's more the sort of player you'd look at when we had 16, not 12. The only upside is that Wilmot is one day off being ineligible for this draft because his birthday is December 31st, so you're getting a player who is as bottom age as they get and has development and possibly more growth left in him.

"It's my main priority," Wilmot told AFL.com.au.

"You have to defend first, then attack. You can't attack if you don't have the ball. The defensive side of my game has always been the first thing on my mind, so for me it's always been defence-first."

Sounds like Hinkley has coached him already.

This would make the Ladhams' trade one of the worst ever, Wilmot woulda been available at pick 16(18)

I realise I've watched less footage than normal this year cause I'm excited about 80% of the prospects that are at a chance with our pick

That is too high for this draft

Do you still do your podcast on the draft?

Do you still do your podcast on the draft?
Didn't this year sadly, work just meant i couldn't get the time in to make it a product that was up to the standard id kike

The invention of the u17s champs allowed me to give whatever time I did have to pour into that
With the intention of restarting it in some form in 2022

Depends what we have to give up to get that second round pick. Not really keen on Williams.

Why aren’t you keen on Williams? And I see you rank Knevitt at 50, what aren’t you a fan of? Superficially they couldn’t have done much more - kick lots of goals and get lots of disposals whenever they’ve had games and performed excellent in the combine. I haven’t watched as closely this year so keen to see what you think.

Would you trade our first next year for a pick in the teens that could get someone like goater or sonsie?

If they slide to 2nd round then I'd think about trading our 2nd rounder.

It's interesting with Lukosius coming out of contract next year, we may need 2 first rounders. Our list managers would know better regarding the chances of landing him, but if he's keen then I'd be keeping that first rounder at all costs

I read on the D&T Board that Cal Twomey's phantom draft will drop today.

Feels like it's a day early, but posters are saying between 5-6pm tonight..

This :thumbsu:
Trade in next year's 2nd rounder would be fine.
Keep our 2022 first and try to add another before next year's draft for trade purposes.

Then bloody get on with it son!

Why aren’t you keen on Williams?

Slow as treacle, very unathletic and I question the validity of his tricks to win the ball being effective at AFL level against athletic defenders. Once he gets the ball good things generally happen though. Basically see him as a slightly taller Patrick Kerr. Could easily see him getting delisted after 0-3 games.

And I see you rank Knevitt at 50, what aren’t you a fan of?

Skills, composure, decision making all poor. Sometimes you can work on those and it turns out ok, other times it doesn't. Obviously a good athlete, plenty of upside. But, just feel there is massive bust potential there with him. Would be sweating bullets if we picked him early.
